Mrs. M. H. Byrne died last
Friday and was buried at Pe
can Grove cemetary on Satur-
day following. Mrs. Byrne was
a noble hearted Christian lady,
and her loss is severely felt

Joseph V. Dory, of Warsaw, 111., was

The district court has finish-
ed business for this term. The
last criminal case ealled, was
that of W. B. Cannon, charged
with killing H. C. Clayton at
Wylle. The case on plea of
defendant was continued until
the next term of the court.

plead guilty to a land swindle
in the Denton district court
and was sentenced to 2 years in
the penitentiary. It seems
that Williams aided in secur-
ing a $3,500 land loan
from J. A. Evans for one,

in which be showed Ev-
ans the wrong piece of land, al-
so misrepresented the amount
which Street had paid for the
same and furnished a bogus ab-
stract and official acknowledge-
ment.
