Queer world ! Queer people!
Here are men und women by
thousanus suffering from uli
soils of diseases, bearing all
manners of pain, spending t h*-ir
all on physicians and "getting
no belter, but rather worse,"
when right at hand there's a
remedy which says it can h«dp
(hern because ii helped thous
anils like ihetu. "Another pa-
tent medicine advertisement,"
you say. Yes, but not of the
ordinary sort. The medicine
is Dr. Pierce's Qolden Melical
Discovery, and It's different
from the ordinary uostrums in
this : It does what It claims to
do, or it costs you nothing!
The way is ihia: You pay
your druggist $1.00 for a bot-
tle, You read the directions,
aud you follow them. You
get better, or you dou't. If
you do, you buy another bot-
tle, and perhaps another. If
you don't get better, you get
your money back. And the
queer thing is thut so many
people are willing to be sick
wheu the remedy is near at
hand.

Thief of Time.
We may lose pistols, money
or some other articles by the
agency of some light-fiogured
person and not suffer much in-
convenience, but when we allow
a neglect of time to rob us of
an opportunity to regain our
ht-alih, we are fearful losers.
Life is not worth living when
you nre unhealthy. When you
are in good health work is not
an endless drudge that seems
to grind you beyond endur-
ance.
There ia no use being sick
when you can be cured. We
do not cure all diseases, nor do
we claim to, but we will exam-
ine you nnd tell you whether
we can cure you or not and will
do so without charge to show
our honesty.
We will riot lake a ens* that
we are unable to cure. We
know that many are discour-
aged and nave almost if not
quite given up all hopes of be-
ing cured.
We are getting daily letters
of gratitude Irotu people whom
we have cured after they have
bnen badly maltreated by local
physicians or some of the so-
called specialists.
We owe our success to our
liurtl study, thorough research
and extensive experience, (hos-
pital and all over the country.)
We are justly proud of our
record aud will be sure to keep
it us unsullied in the future
as it has been in the past.
We see many children on the
streets who are wearing glass
es. Qlassfs are a good thing
when needed but when the
nerves of the eye are weak,
glasses should not be used as
they will weaken the already
weuk eyes. What should be
done is to strengi lien the nerves
and make the eyes strong
thus preventing blindness cat-
aract, etc
We cannot too strongly con
demn the use of glasses when
not needed. We will examine
free of charge all who think
they need to wear glasses and
advise them on the subject.
We do not fit glasses but can
tell you what todoin order to
get satiable ones.
Never "fit!' your own eyee as
you will make a m sfit every
lime Much damnge is done
in Hii-i way to the delicate
Structure of the eyes.
Many times catarrh causes
weak eyes We can cure any
case of catarrh no matter of
how long standing. Onr treat
mentis known to no oue but
ourselves and is different in
principle from all others.

RELIEF AT LAST.
k Delicate Ha~glosl Operation
Skillfully Performed.
At 10 o'clock a m. Thursday,
Feb. 5, at their office in the
Foot# House, Drs. Brown &
Qee-Nio, the specialists, suc-
cessfully operated on the left
eye of Miss Fannie Stevenson,
a ynutiK lady well known, who
lives on College street in this
city, who liiid beeu suffering
with stiatiiBUius (cross eyea)
since she was five years old.
She said, when a<ked after
the operation had been per-
fermed, that she did not feel
nny pain and that she hardly
realized that the operation was
being executed.
Eight minutes were allowed
for the cocaine to take effect
and only one minute was used
in the actual operation. Thus
a deformity of twenty five
years' standing is cured in one
minute, showing what skill and
ability is capable of accom-
plishing for those who are suf-
fering.
Dra. E.F. Brown anl Geo-Nio.
Last Tuesday morning we
visited the office of the above
named gentlemen, at the Foote
House.
We were cordially recleved
and ahown through their apart-
meuts replete with diplomas,
charts, inediealjand all kinds of
surgical instruments. The walls
were lined with deplomaa from
all the leading medical insti-
tutes of both America and Eng
laud. After reading those
guarantees of medical science,
one cannot <!ouV t the ability
of their possessor*. We found
tliH reinbrated .1 ipaneee gentle-

poring over a lot of fresh let

from pat leu ts.
While we have read articles
from his pen in tits Dallas
News, we never had the £l**as-
ure of his acquaintance until
this visit to his office.
We have always been
taught that Japan was simply
a field for missionaries ; that
ignorance wi h its attendant
evils reigned supreme. This
idea was quickly dismissed
and we came away believing
that even in "heathen Japa "
the light of intelligence, like in
our owu fair Und continues to
lighten aud drive ihe shadow
of ignorance into obscurity.
We believe that those afflicted
with any of the diseases these
gentlemen advertise to oure
will be greatly benefited by
consulting them.
