received here yesterday from thu crossing
of tho Southern Pacific railway over
Green's Bayou that the body of a white
woman had bceu found in that locality.
The appearance of the body showed tliut
she had been outraged and subsequeutly
killed. She had lived a short distance
from whore the body was found, and had
stalled to town with the money to pay
some bills, lis was shown by bills found
ou her poison. Her uiissiug purse con-
tained a nolo wiii the sum of money,
which made the evidence of rubbery con-
clusive. Officers will leave to-night for
tho scene. The name of Ihe unfortunate
womau could not bo learned, nnd tho
whole affair is shiouded iu au almost Im-
