wicked and mean; anything
short of a barbarous mind and

Mart Hall's and settling their
trouble with him. Mrs. House,
overhearing the talk, and fear-
ing trouble, sent a young man
over to warn Hall of the con-
templated visit, ami advised
him to hide himself. Instead of
hiding Hall loaded his double-
barrelled shotgun and went to
milk the cows. Iu a shot time
the House brothers came along
iu a buggy, and without warn-
ing William raised a revolver
and shot, missing Hall but
striking thejeow he was milking,
liall at once returned the lire,
the shot striking William in
the face and neck. Semour
sprang from the buggy when
Hall tired the other barrel, the
shot taking effect in House's
neck, killing him almost in-
stantly. The doctors say that
William can not possibly re-
cover. Hall is a quiet, orderly
and respectable man, but the
House brother weie hard citi-

pang who made drinking, light-
