The genera) demand *or us
folks to use mor-i Cotton and de-
mand that atore cotton be used
is figured t help the sbuth to
consume it's surplus croo. The
ladies of Ennis, Texas, have gone
ion "record that they will wear j
'cotton stockings and cotton:
dresses from henceforth. We;
wish the ladies of our town aDd
every other town would fall in
line, it would mean so much
icotton and so much more de-
mand for cotton goods which in
turn would be the salvation of
the industry. Nothing but silks
| are sold now in the cities and to
the town folks as a rule. Lets
| get away from it.'all and get bacU
to cotton. i
Further it is pointed out that
if the farmers, merchants and
others would insist on sugar,
feedstuffs, salt, fertilizer, etc.,
be sacked in cotton sacks it
would run into an enormous
figure. List years estimate
shows that we imported 'from
India $85,000,000 worth of loe
sacking. Think of tbi9. That's
some money. Oar manufac-
turers can use cotton sacks for
hardly'no extra costs at ail.
And think of the mawy us s that
cotton sacks can be put to use on I
the farms and around the hemes,
where an old rough toe sack can ;
not be used at ail. It means
)ig things. In union there n
^ngth. If we all woik to

sacks for sugar. Whose'next?
Our merchants can help by de-
manding cotton sacks for every
thing in place of toe sacks.
