Items Gleaned from Our Exchanges
Fayette County Record.
John B. Holloway, Lad. Vanek
and Geo Lenert went out to Du-
bina today on an inspection, and
business mission.
C. J. von Rosenberg accompanied
by Henry Letzerich went up to
Smithville Sunday at which place
Mr von Rosenberg installed a new
lodge of the Sons of Herman. The
gentlemen report an enthusiastic re-
ception and a fine lodge of this ex-
cellent order.
Chas. Hackebeil celebrated his
—th birthday Sunday and the gen-
tleman notified all of his friends of
the event. At the request of his as-
sociates we have done him the hon-
or to leave his age blank.
LaGrange Journal:
Frank L. Harigel. The Journal's
foreman, departed for the city of
Austin Saturday night to attend the
meeting of the Grand Lodge of Odd
'Fellows, as the repesentativeof La-
Grange Lodg Np. 30.
R. A. Wolters, the merchant prin-
ce of Schulenburg, was in the city
Monday, strictly on business. His
time while here was not entirely
taken up with business, as many of
his friends took him in' hand, and
the last we saw of him he was enjoy-
ing his visit. He returned home in
the after noon.
Tom Melcher, and not alone, ac-
companied^y Miss Mary Luck, came
in from O'Quinn Thursday night to
witnessthe preformance of Oie Olson
in Spiritland. The failure of the
company to fill the date, did not
deter the young people from sight-
seeing, as the moving picture show
and the carnival were taken in and
a nice evening was enjoyed. Come
again, young friends, make the next
visit on April Fool night, and wit-
ness the production by the LaGrange
players, entitled, "Followed by
Fate." ,
Edgar Amberg of Rutersville was
in the city Sunday, and in company
with a number of friends enjoyed a
delightful automobile ride.
Assistant Postmaster Alolf Lued-
ers was at Schulenburg Sunday I ast«

trip more pleasant, he induced Ozie
Zapp to occupy the seat in the bug-
gy. It seems that Adolf's friends
at Schulenburg are increasing, a re-
mark induced by the fact that the
magnet is notViowinour sister city,

ty. Both bojs claim that there isn't
a livelier place in the State than
Schulenburg, and this is probably
true,as they did not return home
untilearly next morning.
Flatonia Argus:
Merchant A. Herzik and Profes-
sor Schultz of Engle were here Fri-
day night taking a view of the car-
nival.
Misses Ti Hie Schmidt and Honora
Sloma left for Austin to attend the
Rebekah assembly. Miss Sloma is
a delegate from this lodge and Miss
Schmidt will be a visitor. The I
0 0. F. grand lodge is also in ses-
sion there. A. W. Albrecht is at-
tending as representative of the lo-
cal lodge. A. G. Kristek is holding
down the lumber yard in his absence.
Eagle Lake Headlight
Chas. Mrazek of the Headlight
spent Wednesday in Schulenburg
assisting in getting out this week's
issue of the stcker, during the ill-
ness of Editor Winfree.
Mrs. I. E Clark of Schulenburg
spent several days in" IJagle Lake
last week with Mrs. Emanuel Roos.
From here Mrs Clark continued on
her journey to Victoria, where she
went to visit relatives.
Hallet3ville Herald:
Joseph Meyer paid Schulenburg
friends a visit last week and reports
them all in good spirits.
Mrs. Henry Schwartz after a plea-
sant visit to relatives here returned
Tuesday to her home at Bay City.
Mrs. Sam Reichman, delegate,
and Miss Louella'Lay left Sunday
for Austin where they attended the
grand lodge meeting of the Rebek-
ahs.

the Southern Pacific freight office,
Weimar, later of San Antonio, with
his wife and mother-in-law, Mrs.
Max Swartz of Schnlenburg, were
