a delightful surprise party by
quite a number of her young friends
Friday evening last at the residence
)f her sister, Mrs. Anna B. Jordan.
The usual program to make the

Death of Mrs. Hugo Arnold.
Early Monday morning the sad
news reached us that Mrs. Hugo
Arnold had succummed to the en-
evitable after a lingering illness cf
about two months and her soul had
winged its way to the great beyond.
The enterrment took place at the
City Cemetery under the auspices
of the Hermann Sons' lodge, of
which her husband is an esteemed
member Tnesday afternoon at 4
o'clock.
Mrs. Arnold was born in Saxony,
Germany about 48 years ago, and
has been a resident of Fayette
county for 20 3'ears. She leaves a
husband ani one daughter, Miss
Lucy, to mourn her loss, to whom
the sincere sympathy of the Stick-
er is extended.
We appreciate very much the
spirit in which Mr, Aug Eilers of
4alletsville took our little remain-
der that he was due us a small sum
the Sticker. This is what he
on
said: "Your notice stating the
amount due on subscription to
hand. You are right, it takes
money to run a newspaper, so en-
closed pleaso find money order for
amount due. Glad you reminded
me. Keep me posted at all time
when subscription runu out and
keep Sticker coming." We like
to get these kinds of answers.
Would publish some v.'i the other
kind of answers but do not like to
let you know what kind of people
some are that have taken the
Sticker for a number of years and
ihen say they did not order it only
for a certain time

Letter to Chas. Sengelmann.
Schulenburg, Texas.
Dear Sir: Messrs Leach man &
Edelin, Grafton, W. Va, has been
selling a paint, which they thought
well of; and this had occurred.
They bad sold a customer 18
gallons of it to paint his house, A
few years late*-, they sold the same
man Deyoe lead-and-zinc the same
number of gallons to paint the same
house. He had 7 gallons left.
The point of the tale is: 11 gal-
lons Devoe paints an 18-gallon
house.
Of course, that isn't all.
Why does JI gallons Devoe go
as far as 18 gallons of other paint?
Because it is all paint, all true, no
sham, and full measure.
But that isn't all. Deyoe lasts
longer. No, no; you haven't got
to wait ten years to find that out.
Ten hundred people know it.
We've got their names. Our
agents know them; they think a
heap of Devoe. There's no dif-
ficulty i$ showing your towns-
people what to expect of Devoe.
$10 will paint a $15 house; and
the paint'll last twice as long.
Yours truly,
F. W. Devoe & Co
New York.
