Texas-Israel Chamber of
Commerce to honor
Shelly Stein at March 24 dinner
By Rachel Gross Weinstein
Since 2007, the Texas-Israel Chamber of Com-
merce (TiCoC) has boosted the economies of Texas
and Israel by developing relationships between com-
panies and business leaders in both regions. Building
those bridges and connections leads to stability and
growth in Texas and Israel.
The TiCoC will honor community leader Sheldon
Stein, president and CEO of Glazer's Distributors,
with the Texas Bridge Builder Award at its 2011 North
Texas Business Awards Dinner on Thursday, March
24. It will take place at a major Dallas hotel with a re-
ception at 6:15 p.m., followed by the dinner and pro-
gram at 7 p.m.; tickets cost $200 and about 700 people
are expected to attend.
Greg Yavner, president and CEO of the TiCoC,
said the annual dinner recognizes committed busi-
ness and community leaders who support the orga-
nization's mission. He said Stein exemplifies what the
TiCoC stands for.
"Shelly has done so much for bridging Texas and
Israeli companies," he said. "He is a good example
of our organization and is a community leader. On
this spectacular evening, we will thank Shelly for his
generous support of our mission and community.
The event will also serve as a celebration of successful
business development between Texas and Israel."

as honorary chairman last year. Stein said Glazer's im-
ports many Israeli wines and he plans to visit wineries
on his next trip to Israel.
He said having ties with Israel is great for the Texas
economy and he is honored to be recognized by the
TiCoC, an organization he is passionate about.
"This is a worthy organization that does a lot of
good," he said. "It has been gratifying to meet so many
