Obituaries
On TV he acted in lost [sic] in Space, Bonanza,
Bewitched, H. R. Puffinstuff. He was frequently
seen in TV commercials as well.
A recent publication, The Munchkins of Oz,
by Steven Cox, gives personal biographies of
several of the Munchkins. Of Harry Monty, Cox
writes, "He made a great contribution to the
motion picture industry."
Monty was preceded in death by his parents,
three brothers, Sam Lichenstein, Harry
Lichenstein, and Sol Lichenstein. He is
survived by nieces Joy L. Parker, Bea L.
Weisbrod, Linda L. Pollard, Ruth L. Zarchin,
Maureen Cohen and nephews Sam Lichenstein,
Jr., Simon Lichenstein, Morris Liston; and his
dear friend, Terry Bir of Hollywood, CA.
Private family services will be held on
December 30, 1999, with burial in the Sarif
Israel Cemetery in Dallas, TX.

Shaprio, Linda Bookstein, Died March 10,
2000 in Dallas, TX. She was born May 25,
1949 in Detroit, MI and made her home in LA
for 34 years, before moving to Dallas, TX where
she was a programmer for IBM.
Linda was a devoted mother and sister and
loving friend to many. She loved to travel, ski,
sail and to hangglide.
She is survived by her daughter Jacqueline;
brother, Norman and dogs Sparky and Beebe.
Linda supported the SPCA and cancer research
to whom donation [sic] can be made in her
honor.
Services will be held on Tuesday, March 14, at
Eden Memorial Park.

Stephen, The Right Reverend Archimandrite,
born December 3, 1939, in Dallas, Texas, died
January 5, 2000. He was the son of Col. Edgar
L. and Jewell Joan McCarley Barham.
Archimandrite Stephen Barham was a Melkite
Greek Catholic Priest who served as Executive
Director of the Apostolate for Catholic Truthand Service (ACTS) which is an international
Catholic agency for media and evangelization.
He had a media background that began with
radio, then television and also film. He hosted
both radio and television shows, including: "The
Sunday Sound of Religion," and "Heart of a
Nation." Father was a producer and consultant
in Rome for a film entitled, "An Empire
Conquered." He was a Catholic priest for 33
years, who had a well-known healing ministry;
he was sought out for parish missions, priest
retreats and conventions nationally and
internationally. He was traveled extensively in
the United States and worldwide. He was
chaplain to the Christian Oilmen's Fellowship
International. Father's education included two
Ph.D.'s; one in psychology and one in theology.
His mother, Jewell Joan McCarley Barham,
preceded him in death. Father Stephen is
survived by his father, Col. Edgar L. Barham of
Dallas, Texas.
At 4:00 p. m., Monday, January 10, 2000, he
will be in state at St. Mark Catholic Church in
Piano, Texas. Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00
pm, Monday at St. Mark Catholic Church. Mass
of Christian Burial at 11 am, Tuesday, January
11, 2000, at St. Mark Catholic Church, Rev.
Msgr. Glenn Duff Gardner celebrant. Burial will
follow at Restland Memorial Park.

Haile, Jane Anne (age 40) of Camarillo, passed
away in her home on Tuesday March 13, 2001
after battling cancer for 1 V2 years. Jane was born
on July 14, 1960 in Dallas, Texas and has been a
Ventura county resident for the past 31 years
after moving here from Kansas City, Kansas.
She was a banker for Wells Fargo in the Los
Angeles area for 21 years. Jane enjoyed
shopping, fine dining, gardening and reading the
