There won't be any cash
prizes offered for home Christ-
mas decorations this year,
Chamber of Commerce direc-
tors decided this morning.
The Chamber of Commerce
paid out $140 in cash prizes
for best home lighting last
Christmas season . . . but de-
cided that the competition
was too little to justify the
bash awards.
"We expect that most peo-
ple who plan home decora-
tions are going to put them
up whether cash awards are
offered or not," C-C secretary
John Wilkinson explained,
"and the awards didn't have
any appreciable effect on the
number of homes decorated."
Recognition will be given
this year to the best-decorated
homes, but no cash prizes
will be awarded.
