In still another type of work, largely creative, Hogue lis-
tened to ideas-some clearly defined, some quite nebulous-
on the solution of production problems, then converted these
ideas into concrete illustrations. For this work he was sta-
tioned on Final Assembly where he worked directly with
production men, listening to their problems and using his
art to aid in their solution.

As Head of the Art Department of Hockaday Junior College was
granted leave of absence for the duration so that he might go to work
at North American Aviation as production illustrator.
Represented in many collections, notably Jeu de Paume Museum (a
branch of the Louvre), Paris, France; International Business Machines
Collection of American Art; Encyclopedia Britannica Collection, Chi-
cago; Carl Milles Collection, Cranbrook, Michigan; John Glenn Sample
Collection, Chicago; Library of Congress; Philadelphia Museum of Art.
Works reproduced in many books and magazines among them LIFE,
FORTUNE, PARNASSUS, ART DIGEST, ART NEWS, LONDON
STUDIO PUBLICATIONS, Boswell's MODERN AMERICAN PAINT-
ING, etc.
Works exhibited: 1-Carnegie Internationals of 1938 and 1939, Pitts-
burgh, Pa. 2-International Exhibition of 1938, Paris, France. 3-Ven-
ice (Italy) Biennial of 1940. 4-Corcoran Biennials, Washington, D. C.
5-Canadian National Exhibition, Toronto. 6-Metropolitan Museum,
Museum of Modern Art, Whitney Museum and World's Fair, all of
New York. 7-Chicago Art Institute. 8-One Hundred American Litho-
graphs (1941-42). 9-In both Good Will Exhibitions to ten South
American capitols and Mexico City (1941-42), sponsored by Metropoli-
tan Museum. 10-"Meet the Artist," Self-Portrait Exhibition, San
Francisco. 11-American Federation of Art Circuits. 12-Artists for
