Change of Engines.
From Monday's Daily.
Switch engine No: 36, which has
been on duty in- the Texas and New
Orleans Railroad company's yards,
has been called in to Houston, and
engine No. 46 has been sent here to
do duty, the change taking effect to-
day.
This is .the most dangerous time
of the year to catch cold, and it is
the hardest time to cure it. If you
should take a cold, a few doses of
Kennedy's Laxative Cough Syrupf will
act very promptly. Its laxative prin-
ciple cures the cold by driving it from
the system by a gentle but natural
action of the bowels. Children es-
pecially like Kennedy's Laxative

nearly like maple sugar. It is sold

Simple Recipe for Kidney or

many "people here is the article taken
from a New York daily paper, giving
a simple prescription, which is said
to be a positive remedy for backache

taken before the stage of Bright's.dis-

Mr. Folsom's bass has a melody
and smoothness to it that is pleasing
and' his selection last night demon-
strated its wide range, being as clear
as a bell on the high notes and of
great depth arid purity iri the lower
register.
The tenor section of this choir is
especially strong and in the several
anthems rendered by them last night,
the swe.et tones of, Mr. Joe Powell
were brought out to advantage. Mr.
Powell is one of the most popular
and pleasing singers in Orange and
the only disappointment in connection
with this áplendid service óf sbri'g
last night was the fact that he did
not have a solo,
Of the several anthems rendered,
the last on the program, "Gently Lead
Us," seemed to be the best, though it
were hard, indeed, for one to select
the best where all were so good.
Two male Quartettes were rendered
and were heard with,' much pleasure,
Messrá. Sims, Folsom, Powell and
Latting forming the quartette
An enjoyable number was a trio
from Verdi sung by Mrs. Bitting,
Messrs. Latting and Sims. Verdi's
music appeals particularly to a large1
class of music lovers.
The entire program was directed
by Mrs. May Bitting, who takes the
leading soprano part and the splendid
manner in which the program was
rendered indicated much painstaking
instruction upon her part and reflect-
ed much, credit jiipon her ability as
a director.
Miss L<?ah Rusfeell presided at thé
organ, while Prof. Albert Colin and
Prof. J. Buchanan assisted with their
violins, Prof. Colin-playing the violin
ob}igato for Miss Achenbach's beauti-
ful solo. \
Rev. J. L. Massey, pastor of the
Methodist church, delivered a short
address, which,, was. well received by.
the congregation?: in which he paid
a splendid tribute to the power and
influence of music,
The entire service was a delight to
all who hear(d it and the pastor, Rev,
E. T. Drake, the choir director, and
the"individual members of the choir
were all-the recipients of many hearty
and sincere compliments at its close.
The personnel of the choir who
took part, in this service last night is
as follows: Sopranos, Mrs. May Bit-
ting, Mr?. W. L. Latting, Misses
Helen - Achenbach, Eula Qrtmeyer,
Lucia Seller^ and Cleora Hewson:

day Evening.
From Monday's Daily.
The largest audience that has ever
assembled in the Presbyterian church
at Orange gathered there last night
to hear the magnificent program that
had been prepared for the service of
song, and the church was crowded
to its utmost capacity, many people
standing in the rear, of the building,
and mány more on the outside.
Never has a more carefully select-
ed or better arranged program been
rendered in Orange and the director
df the Presbyterian choir, Mrs; May
Bitting, certainly deserves to be con-
gratulated upon the splendid ability
shown in this arrangement.
Congregational hymns, solos, quar-

Much sickness is of nervous
origin. It's the nerves that
make the heart force the blood
through the veins, the lungs
take in oxygen, the stomach dir
gest food, the liver secrete bile
and the kidneys filter the blood.
If any of these organs are weak,
it is the fault of the nerves,
through which they get their
strength. £)r. Miles'Nervine is
