IN accordance with the provisions of an Act of the
General Assembly of the State ol Louisiana,
entitled: An act "To authorize the sale of llonds
for the relief of the Treasury, and final liquidation
of the principal and interest thereof," approved
February 8 th, 1864

to run from their dates, and to be issued iu amounts
of not less than two hundred, nor more than one
thousand dollars each, at the discretion of the Gov-
ernor, with six per cent, per annum, payable semi-
annually at the office of the State Treasury.
These Bonds will be sold for the benefit of the
State, or exchanged for any of the Confederate or
State Treasury notes.
The General Assembly in authorizing the sale or
exchange of these bonds, has provided for the pay-
ment of tho current interest semi-annually, and the
redemption of the bonds at maturity, by the creation
of an ample sinking fund.
On the first Monday of every mouth the sealed
bids received, will be opened and the Uonds award-
ed to the highest bidder at the discretion of the Gov-
ernor.

To the Jail of Van Zandt County, on the 8th of
February, A. D. 1861, two Negro boys, who say they
belong to Mrs Babo, of Ellis County, Texas. Des-
cribed as follows: One a black color, 17 or 18
yjars of ago, tolerably slender madi, calls his name
Jim. The other a dark mulatto, 1.5 or 1U years of
age, tolerably chunky made, calls his name George.
The owner will please come forward, prove proper-
ty, pay charges and take them away, or they will be
delt with according to law.

UOUR Cavalrj Companies of my Regiment having
a been transferr ;d to another command, by order
of Lt. General E. Kirby Smith, I am authorized by
M^j. Gen. Magruder to replace said companies by
recruiting four Infantry Companies. I ant also au-
thorized to raise three Companies of Cavalry, to be
stationed at the mouth of the Brazos, river, lor dutj
under my command. Recruits received in compa-
nies or squads, r,nd the usual bountv paid.

procured for th« army through the medium of cot-
ton in the District of Texas.
The authority of all agents, in the District of
Texas, empowered to purchase or obtain supplies
with cotton, exeept those appointed by thcTexa
Cotton office, is hereby revoked, and hereafter ni
such agentB will be appointed except by the Cotton
officer under authority from Department Head
Quarters.

Dallas, Ellis. Navarro, Limestone, Freestone. Katif
man, Smith, Van Zandt, Wood, Upshur and Hunt.
SCHEDULE rf all the tracts of land in the above
named counties, which have been confiscated, will
be left in the Clerk's Office of each county for in-
spection by those wishing to purchase. and in all
oases in which a satisfactory minimum price is bid
for a tract, I will obtain a decree to offer such tract
or tracts for salo to the highest bidder, for cash at
the Court IIouso door of the County, on the regular
sale day iu each month, the biddings to open at tfcc
minimum price so bid. Until the war is over and
our citizens shall return from the amy, said lands
will only be sold in this manner, end bitfs are invi-
ted. This course, it is hoped, may have effect of
accommodating such of our citizens at home as
need these lands for use, and at the same time allow
our bravo soldiers to purchase such tracts as they
need, and prcveat the lands passing into the band
of speculators at nominal prices.
