The very ligera I patronage heretofore extend-

State, baa indnced the proprietors to this coarse.
An entire new office baa been ordered, from the
«elebrated m ave factory of Hoe 6t Co., ol New

rendering the Star, m appearance, one of the
handsomest jonrnala in -tito Stale.
The editorial department wiU undergo no

conree previously pursued by tbitjournal, it may
be necessary to say, that the Lokx Sta« will
be etrietly end rigidly Democratic, though its

liberal diacuaaion of all the great and leading

the Nation, irrespective of party.
In Stale poiiiiica, we are uncompromisingly
opposed to a division of our State or to a trans

portion of our territory, to the United Siatee, be

inviolate, Free Soilitm can never find an abid

To the emigiant, or tboee at a dislance, seek

of our State, the Star will be an acceptable

being near the centre of the Stale, and our mean
of acquiring information on those subjects being

for the last fourteen years, in almoat every por
