for the hair. Hence a case of baldness or thin head

Death
CAN be and has been prevented in thousands
of cases by th;s, nature's own remedy,
judson's chemical extract of
CHERRY AND LtSGWORT.
This medicine, unlike most of the patent medi-
cines of the day. is the result of the careful study
and experiments of a scientific and experienced
physician. The two principal ingredients have
long been known and celebrated.
TyIUJ cherry bark.
When tLc strength of this is properly extracted
is the bes1: medicine known for curing the worst
|coughs and other pulmanary diseases, it loosens
ie phlegm and enables the sufferer io expectorate
asily, and alone will cure the worst cold or cough,
irhich if neglected always leads to consumption!
LUNGWORT.
This is a plant the virtues ol which are known
but few. It has been said by the most learned
I me n of aii times, that ''nature has provided a
[remedy for each and every disease." and the
¡discoveries that are daily ma<ie, <;o to prove its
¡truth. Lungworth is doubtless th ¿remedy designed
\by nature f>r consumption. Its healing properties
I are truly wonderful, and the rapidity with which
[it cures the worst cases of ulcerated lungs, sooth-
ing and subduing all irritation almost immedi-
| ately, is a proof of its adaptation to this disease.
These two articles, combined with other purely
I vegetable ingredients, form a medicine that is
ter'ain to cure the worst cases of Consumption ir
I taken bjiore the sufferer is entirely [«rostrated.
ik> not be discouraged, a trial can do no harm,
Ibut will convince the most sceptical of its real
¡worth.
Thousands of Consumptive persons have been
Jeceived repeatediy in buyiug medicines which
rere said to be infallible cures, but which have
ved only palliatives, but this meiiicine is not
lily palliative but a cure for ulcerated lungs. It
ntaiiis no deleterious drugs, aud one trial will
ote its a.st-Miishing efficacy better than any
rtions or certificates in curing consumption
all diseases of the lungs and liver, such as
pitting of blood, coughs, pain in the side chest,
i sweats, &c.. &e.
1Caution—To protect our own as well as the
srest of the consumptive sufferer, we are oblig-
to caution all to find the signature of Com-
ck & Brother on the wrapper, without this it
is a worthless counterfeit—Remember this
To Owners of and dealers in Horses.
[ Carlton's Founder Ointment.
For the cure of Founder, Split hoof, and
I contracted and feverish feet, wounds, bruises in
the flesh, galled backs, cracked heels, scratches,
cuts, kicks, &., on horses.
Carlton'* Ring Bone Cure.—For the cure of
Ring-Bone, blood spavin, bone spspavin, wind-
galls and splint, a certain remedy.
Carlton's Condition Powders for Horses and Cat-
/fc.—Carlton's articles for horses and cattle are
¡pared from the recipe of a very celebrated
;lish farrier, and will cure in ninety-nine
¡ out of one hundred any of the above com-
plaints. They have been used by farmers, livery
men, stage proprietors and others, with the most
marked and decided success.
Caution.—None can be geruine unless you find
> the name of J. Carlton Comstock on the wrapper
i each article. Remember this, as their articles
ive been extensively counterfeited of late, look
I and find the proprietors' name, J. Carlton Com-
atock, ftc., never bey without.
Jlxor'i Oriental Turkish Wine,
The great remedy for general debility, weak-
|asss, loss of appetite, dyspepsia, billious diseases,
la certain preventive of fevers, &c. This wine
lis the most pleasant and effectual remedy for any
Tthe above complaints, and for many others not
ntioned, th"* bas ever been discovered. It i«
6ng
so agreeable to the taste that any one taking it
soon prefers it to any wine; while its action on
the stomach and bowels is prompt and efficient,
thus, by keeping the organ in which the basis of
the blood is formed in a healthy and pure state,
necessarily keeps the blood pure and healthful.
It is a stimulant without reaction, unlike all alco-
holic prepaiations, which leave the partaker in a
state of prostration. This wine sends a gentle
and agreeable feeding through every nerve, and
its tonic properties are such that it will restore
the weak and oebiliiated to their natural strength
and vigor. It is composed of the pure wine of
many of the most tonic and rare plants in the
Materia Medica, the recipe of which was ob-
tained from a celebrated Turkish '' Hakim,"—
physician—and one bottle is equal to any ten of
sarsaparilla or blood purifier ever before known.
Then give this Oriental Wine a trial; it will
speak for itself better than any recommendation
or certificate, and he who tries it once will never
be without it. Nothing can equal it as a diet
drink in hot climates or on shipboard, and no
traveler should be without it.
Cavtion.—Find the name of Comstock & Bro-
ther and the stamp of the Turkish flagon the lable
and cork of each bottle. Without this it cannot
be genuine.
Dr. Judson's Worm Tea.
A Safe, Pleasant and Certain Remedy.—This
is the most extraordinary remedy for worms
ever used; it effectually eradicates worms from
both adults and children. It cannot harm the
most delicate infant or strongest adult, and never
fails to completely soot out and destroy all kinds
of worms. The cost, 25 cts.. puis it within reach
of all and all parents who are without it ore
wantonly exposing the lives of their children to
those fell destroyers of youth, "worms." Look
for the name of Comstock & Brother, proprietors,
on the wrapper of each bottle.

MEDICINES, &.C.
The Washington Remedies.
to plantkks and others.
THE proprietors of the Washington Remedies
beg to call the attention of the public to
the wonderful efficacy of these compositions,
which have never yet been known to fail !
The conviction must force itself upon the mind
of every sentient being, that God, in his mercy,
has provided for every ill a healing balm—an
antidote for each disease. It is well known, too,
that in America have been discovered numerous
herbs of rare medicinal properties; that with the
aborigines were found many curative preparation,
surpassing those hitherto known to the physicians
of Europe. But few, however, of these valuable
compositions were introduced into the European
colleges of medicine, there existing then, as now,
a prejudice against increasing the materia medica
by means so simple. These Remedies, now
offered to the public under the title of the Wash-
ington Remedies, are composed ol ingredients,
many of which are even known to Botany. No
apothecary has thein for sale . they are supplied
to the subscribers by the native redinen of Louisi-
ana. The recipes by which they are compounded
have descended to the present possessor. M. A.
Micklejohn, from ancestors who obtained them
from the friendly Indian tribes, prior to, and
during the Revolution, and they are now offered
to the public with the confidence which has
been gained from a knowledge of the fact, that
during so long a series of years, there has never
been known an instance in which they have failed
to perform a speedy and permanent cure. The
subscribers do not profess that these remedies
will euro every disarrangement of the human sys-
tem, but in such as re enumerated below ihey
feel they cannot fail. The directions for use have
only to be strictly followed, and howeve- despair-
ing'the patient may have been, he will-find cause
for blissful Hope and renewed Life.
These preparations are no Northern pat« t hum-
bug, but are manufactured in New Orleans by a
Creole, who has long used them in private prac-
tice, rescuing many unfortunate victims of disease
lrom the grave, after they have been given up by
their physicians as incurable, or have been tor-
tured beyond endurance by lacerations and nainful
operations.
In proof ofthe unrivaled success of these Reme-
dies. we append the names and residences of a
few from among the many who have been cured
by their use. It will be observed that our evidence
is home evidence not New York, Boston, Green-
land, Iceland, Australia and Sandwich Island evi-
dence, but
Bonn Fida New Orleans Evidence !
James Hibbs, Erato-street, New Orleans, cer-
tifies he was cured of a sore leg, of eight years'
standing.
Catherine Cordial, Roya! and Customhouse-
streets, certifies she was cured of a sore oi ten
years' standing.
Thomas Kerney certifies to curing numerous
persons in California, of ulcerated sores. He also
cured himself, by using the Washington Reme-
dies. His residence is in Dryades-street.
R. A. Van Horn, Publisher of the Central Texi-
an, Anderson, Grimes county, Texas, certifies to
being cured by these Remedies.
Irancis Louis, 21 Clouet-street, New Orleans,
certifies to being cured ol a cancer.
William Jay, corner Girod and Common streets,
cured of an ulcer of eight years'standing.
Elizabeth Cone!ly, coiner Dryades and Clio
streets, certifies Jo being cured, in twenty-four
hours, of the most painful ulcerated sores.
R. W. Carter, 226 Couti street, was cured
of a fistula often years' growth. Mr. Carter csn
be seen at Sherman's Truss and Brace Establish-
ment, corner of St. Charles and Gravier streets.
By opening a correspondence with any of thd
foregoing parties, the skeptic may satisfy his
mind as io ihe virtues claimed for these Reme-
dies. Below we add a few commendations of Ihe
New Orleans press:
The Washington Remedies.—These rapidly rising
and popular Southern preparations are really
deserving the attention ofthe public, thei? cura-
tive properties being of an extraordinary naturj.
So successful has been the career of the Washing-
ton Remedies, that ti.ey have never yet failed ;n
making a cure.—N. O. Daily Delta.
Woii'trous Success.-*The rapidity with which
the wondrous Washington Remedies have risen
in public favor, would surprise us were their
curative properties less than we know them.to
be. This is the greatest proof of their efficacy.-*-
N. O. Picayune.
Invalids suffering from rheumatism should use
the Washington Remedies.—True Delta.
True Merit.—Patent medicines generally are
humbugs, but if true merit exists in anything,
we believe it exists in the Washington Remedie).
—Truc Delta.
The Washington Remedies comprise four pre-
parations, as follows, viz:
The Washington Rheumatic Ointment.
This rare preparation is used outwardly, ia
cases ofGout, Rhejmatism,Neuralgia, StiffJoints,
Caked Breast, Bruises, Sprains, Stiffness ofthe
TSeck, Hard Lumps and Contractions of the Sin-
ews, us well as Inflammatory Swellings of the
Joints, Aches and Pains throughout the body and
limbs. In all instances where external stimula-
tion is required no remedy surpasses this Oint-
ment.
The Washington Internal Remedy.
This composition is purely vegetable. It is
used inwaidly for all Rheumatic Complaints of
a chronic or violent nature, at the same time the
Washington Rheumatic Ointment is applied exter-
nally. In cases of hereditary Gout, it should be
used in conjunction with the Ointment. When
the limbs have be> n paralyzed, or have become
useless, when great inflammation exists i.i the
ioints or limbs, or when excruciating pain and
contraction of sinews take p'ace, a wine-glassful
should be taken every morning, while following
the directions for the application ofthe Ointment.
Its efficient qualities are so great, yet so pleas-
ing, that a tingling sensation is perceived in a
very short time after the first dose. This indi-
cates that the disease is undergoing a general
breaking-up, and the pain appears to run from one
part to another of the body und so continues until
it takes its final leave. If the blood be impure,
the Remedy will expel every particle of virus,
opening any sores that may be upon the body,
and expeliing the corruption through íhom. In
some instances it causes foul and unhealthy secre-
tions to exule through the pores of the skin, and
rapidly exterminates them, thus restoring the
body to perfect health.
The Washington Salve.
By following strictly the directions, the Washi-
ngton Salve will conquer the most inveterate case
of the following diseases, viz: Cancer, Tetter
Worm, Scald Head, Ring Worm, VVhitloe, Bone
Felon, Syphilitic Eruptions and Ulcers, Scrofula,
Salt Rheum, Leprosy, Boils, Itch, Erysipelas, Car-
buncles, Piles, Fistula. Pimples, Cutaneous Erup-
tions and ulcerated and obstinate Sores, arising
from Blows, Burns, Scalds,&c. There is no mine-
ral ingredient whatever in this Salve, and it can
be applied safely upon the raw flesh, without
the slightest fear of injury; for, while it acts with
great power upon unsound and coriupted parts,
never leaving till every particle of virus is sucked
out, and impurity eaten away, it is perfectly
harmless when applied to a healthy part. This
Salve, however, is never to be applied to fresh
cuts or wounds.
The Washington Purifier
Is used in conjunction with the Washington
salve, in hereditary cases, or those in which the
disease is of very long standing as will be found
intimated in the directions for use accompanying
each jar or bottle. This preparation is warranted
purely vegetable. It eradicates disease lrom the
system by acting upon foul sections and by purify-
ing the blood. When taken for open sores, it
causes all the impurities of the body to discharge
themselves through such sores, frequently aston-
ishing the patient with the quantity and rapidity
of discharge. This remedy also acts as a cathar-
tic or purgative. While this remedy is being
taken inwardly, the Salve should be applied out-
wardly, so that, to speak in familiar phrase, the
one may push the disease out, while the other
draws.
We would, however, have it understood that
it is necessary to use the internal Remedies only
in such cases as have defied the skill of physi-
cians, or have resisted the application of other
preparations, or such as are heie litary. In ordi-
nary cases the Washington Salve and Washington
Rheumatic Ointment alone will cure such com-
plaints as are enumerated under their respective
heads.
Any one may cure himself by using these
Remsdies; but persons who may consider them-
selves incurable, or whose servants are incapaci-
tated from labor, and are deemt d worthless, will
be guaranteed a cure, and the case treated for a
moderate consideration. In caseoffailure, (which
we never yet have made J no compensation will
be required.
The Washington Remedies
for external application are put up in jars at Five
Dollars; in half-jars at Three Dollars. For in-
ternal use they are put up in bottles at Two
Dollars each.

Messrs. Radway & Co.—I feel happy ;o say to

all the best Physicians had failed.
Mrs. Mary All Britton, wife of Jesss All Brit-

attended by three of our best Physicians. They had
all givm her up : her hips and the extremities betow
were perishing. One bottle of Resolvent, one bottle of
Relief, and one box of Regidators, had made a per-

For two years or more I have had inflamma-

it with Sarsaparilla, Arsenic and Iodine for six

your Resolvent with the most happy success.

Remarkable effect of the R. R. Rcsosolvent on a girl
given up to die—one hundred dollars paid for her
recovery—the body all covere < with frightful sores:
W. B. F. Oliver, P. M , of Dayton, Dooley co.,
wrote under date of May 8th, 1S53, '"That a very
valuable girl had be n so afflicted and tormented
with scrofulous ulcers that there was not sound
flesh enough about her body to lay a quarter of a
dollar She had been carried home to die. No
one in Drayton who liad ¡<een her would give a
dime lor her lire. Mr. Oliver, however, persua-
ded her master to give Radway's Renovating
Resolvent. Mr. Oliver attempted the experi-
ment—gave the Resolvent several times per day.
In a few hours she became stronger. In a few
days she felt better. In twen'y-one days she was
entirely cured, and was again about her usual du-
ties, as happy and as hearty as ever. Not a scar
was left to disfigure her skin; her skin was
smooth and flesh sound."
fifteen months later.
On the 18th of August, 1S54, fiteen months
after this wonderful cure was made, Mr. Francis
Horton wrote us that the generous master ot the
girl presented Mr. Oliver with one hundred dol-
lars for his attention on the girl, and recommend-
ing the use of th« R. R. Resolvent. This girl is
in the full enjoyir.ent of health.

R. R. REGULATORS No. 2.
A New Principle in Medicine, never before known or
possessed by any Purgative Cathartic, or Anti'
Bilious Pills in use The true way to Puri-
fy the Blood. Let all who have ever
taken Ptfls read ami investigate
the Theory on which Rad-
way's Regulators are
founded.
the most perfect pills in use,
And the only Pills that possess any new medical pre-
pcrtics, or Regulating Powers, that have been
discovered during the present century.
THE action of Radway's Regulators on the
human system establishes a n< w principle in
medieine, viz: that the blood cannot be purified
by the direct of specific action ot any drug upon
it, as an egg or piece of isinglass purifies our
coffee. We are aware that many learned doctors,
writers on materia medica, and proprietors of
popular medicines, gravely assert ihis doctrine,
and recommend their remedies to possess this
mysterious property of clearing the blood. We
d< ny ihat such is the fact, and we assert that no
medicine can purify the blood except through the
medium of the glands, viz: the liver, pancreas,
skin, kidneys, bowels. &c., which are the u-tcers that
natvre has established for this purpose. Radway's
Regulators exert a controlling in.'iueme over
these glands, compensating for any unwariantabie
act'on or sluggishness on their par!, by which the
proper amount of excretions is expeiíed from the
blood, iea\ing this fluid in its naiural stsie.
RADWAY'S REGULATORS
Possess another important principle which no
other medicine, in the form of pills, ever yet
possessed, namely : that of having the. bewrls and,
all other organs in the systeui re¿-i :ar aediu'althy
—after they operate.

Kidneys, Glands,

And purify the blood by Cleansing the Sewers o
the System and Regulating every organ to a natural
and healthy action. Those who desire health
should search for the propei remed es to aid nature
in ridding their bodies of disease and infirmities
GREAT MISTAKE OF PILL DOCTORS.
The most popular Pills are deficient in their
composition and medical properties. Manufac-
turers of the best vegetable purgative, or anti-
bilious Pills of the present century, have over
looked the most important properties that Pi'
should possess, viz., the Regnlating powers of tb
Pills. No one can enjoy perfect health un^
each and every organ poseas a healthy and na*
action.
THEIR QUICK ACTION.
Radway's Regulator's are prepared 1
same theory as Radway's Ready Relief0 4C*
quick and to relieve the patient from the stress-
ing ailments that afflict the system imn¡ iate'y*
As soon as the Regulators are swallov^- they
begin their work of regulating the sytem, and
exercise over the diseased parts a heaJhy influ-
ence. If troubled with Coughs, Colds Influenza,
Sore Throat, Cold in the Head, Hoapeness take
from two to four ol R. R. Regulators, on <^0'nS^°

tion. dise aseof the liver or kidney* ®
ol Radway's Regulators will remo* difficulty

health. Radway s Regulato* are P'ea6an' 111
their operation, are elegant" coated with gum
never sicken or gripe the patient; they are free
from mercury or calóme1: al)d will surely rostore
the weak and sichly t health aind strength.
THE BOWELS.
Radway's Regulators do not act exclusively on
the bowels by the force of their irritating pro-
perties, but by their regulating effects qpon w>
system, induce" a thorough discharge of both büt
and pancreatic juice INTO THE BOWELS, thus
using natuie's purgative, viz., the bile and pau-
creatic juice, to operate on the bowels. Rod waifs
Regulators are the only pills in use that move the
bowels in a natural manner; all other purgative pills
now in use move the bowels by their irritating pro-
perties on the coats ofthe intestines, iu the same manner
that the bowels are moved by ihe irritation of food
eatn that disagrees unth the stomach: all ,ht*e secur-
ing operations are at ended with great pui*, and in-
variably leave the bowels costive, and the system pros-
trated with with feebleness and iiregulai-ity.
The following ailments Radway's Regulator
will quickly cure, and free the system from all
Irritating humors, and leave every organ in the
body in a natural and healthy condition:

PNEUMONIA.
This distressing and ofttimes fatal malady will
readily yield to the influence of Radway's Regu-
lators and the R. R. Relief. We have cured hun-
dreds ol persons in Georgia and Alabama, where
Pneumonia raged in localities as epidemic, by
the R. R. Regulasors and R. R. Relief.
IN ALL FEVERS
Rvdway's Regulators will prove effectual, and
will protect the system against fatal consequences.
If Radway's Regulators are taken in good doses,
fiom four to six every six hours on the first symp-
toms of Fever, the patient will soon recover. Mo
person has ever yet died under the R. R. treat-
ment.
THE LIVER.
There is no medicine so effectual in curing all
disorders of the Liver as Radway's Regulators.
Over Blue Pills and all Mercurial Medicine, they
dre greatiy superior.
They act much better and quicker unon the
Liver than Blue Pills, and will not endanger the
system with the injuries inflicted by mercury.
