Chamber of Commorce, from their

A preliminary meeting was held on
Satsrday last, for taking steps towards
the construction of the Matonic and
Odd Fellows Temple. Another meet-
in* will soon be held and definite ac-

The plan drawn by Mr. Larmour
and presented to the Trustees of the
Presbyterian Church, for a new church
edifice is very imposing and gives gen-
eral satisfaction. The cost of the
building is computed at |10,000.

number of plans oí public buildings
proposed to be built in our city, and
havabeen singularly impressed with
the skill of tha artist.
The amateur theatricals played on
Saturday night, the Lady of Lyons, at
the mansion of Mrs. 3. W. Glenn.
It was given for the benefit of the La-
dies Benevalent Society. Wo are in-
debted for a complimentary ticket.
