Hereafter attaches of this office will be
.required to exercise this valuable quality.
Amono the numerous articlc# enume-
rated as constituting the heavy stock of
T. E. Cater, we notice *'Waterproof
Suits." W« know not whether any other
houses have these goods, but do know
that nt this season they ara very useful.
A new advertisement from Sampson
Ji Uenrkka says they are soiling ''Indus-
trial Steel flows" at four dollars less than
last season. Purchase early or it will
be to<i i&te. Iu this connection ft were
as well to mention that "Industrial Steel
plows,' is not the only article this enter^
prising house is selling low.
The Law card of Mr. Z. T. Fillmore
will be found in to-day's issue. Mr.
Fillmore comes among us with the high-
-est recommendations as a scholar and
Southern gentleman, true to the instincts
and traditions of ¡lib nativity. We es
teem his presence an accession to our
community, and bespeak for him all
that is due to such material.
The advertisement of Dr. Porter,
medical electrician and eléctic physician,
will lie found in to-day'a paper. If one
half of the voluminous testimony addu-
X d by this widely advertised physician
can be relied upon, he must be indeed a
conqueror of diseases. The doctor will
make his advent in Austin on Monday,
tu«25d irist.
On Monday evening, the New York
Stat Company rendered at Bums' Hall
to a goodly and well pleased house, Ten-
nyson's' famous poem of " Dora or the
Farmer's Will,", concluding with the
Beautiful Blonde. This evening will be
produced the Irish comedy of tho "Irish
Doctor, or Mesmeric Wonders." We
may well anticipate a pleasant evening.
There is no business firm in Texas
doing more to direct attention and immi-
gration to the country than the Land
Agency firm of DeCordova & Rector.
In addition to active and untiring efforts
to develop and settle unimproved sec-
tions, the attention of parties setting
homes or investment, is constantly at-
tracted by their advertisements, published
in leading papers, and other mediums of
advertising iu nearly nil sections of the
country. We notice in the "Land
Owner" a huge real e tate manual, pub-
lished at Chicago, and reputed to have
•a circulation of 800,000, tho advertise-
ment of this firm; and also a notice
[ copied from the State Gaziktb. To
I distant persons we can say of this firm
that they are thoroughly reliable. To
[parties at home any encomiums would
f be useless.
