Ma J. Df.Mohse:—
Dear Sir: I have just returned from Ft.
Arbuckle, to which post I went in Colonel
Young's rigiment, and thinking you might
like to hear something from tho expedition,
I will gi e you a few items. The regiment
was organized on Pud Kiveis in the Cbicki-
saw Nation, three miles above Preston, on
ded to our Confederate flag, representing
with splendor the interests nnd privileges of
an intelligent and down-trodden people who
have just arisca from the dark abyss of op-
pression. They havo learned that the south-
ern people aro not only their friends, but
are disposed not to treat them as infants
who are incapable ofself-govcument, but al-
low them all the privdeges an t lmunities of
intelligent white people. I would like to
speak more of this people, but time and
space will not permit. Texas.
