The meeting with Miss Frankie
Bothwell, Tuesday afternoon was
well attended, lessons thorouhly
prepared, and recited in bright
entertaining manner. A warm
welcome was extended the new
member, Mrs. Frank Williams.

wood, Gid Bell, Langston Adams,
Will Murray, Miss Lillie Row-

This vigorous young club en-
ters upon its active career with
the new year. It was organized
in the ftfl. and is now well
launched on its study couráe.
While Shakespeare, with collat-
eral reading, medieval history,
etc., cortltitutes the leading
study, there are readings along
other lines, and the club keeps
well abreast with the times and
thoroughly informed on all pub-
lic matters of interest. Atare-

ing or repairing any building, or
structures, within the corpoiate
limits of the city of Tyler, Texas.
Be it ordained by ihe City
Council of the city of Tyler, l^x-
as, that it shall be the duty of
everv person or persons, firm or
corporation who shall erect, re-
pair, remodel or alter any build-
ing fence or other structure; or
build, repair or alter any side-
walk, curb, gutter, bill-board,
waver main, sewer, man-hold,
area-way in sidewalk; or tele-
graph, telephone, or electric
pole, or telephone, telegraph or
electric wires, cables, conduits,
guys, braces of anv description
whatever; culverts, signal plants
and wires necessary in the oper-
ation of any railrway line; to
make written application to the
city engineer stating the number
and extent of such building* re-
pairs or other alterations, or a-
bove set forth, and the estimated
cost of same, and the exact spotof
ground or lot upon which such
changes are to be made, and the
