The Entire American Nation is rallying to Pay Homage to the American
Hen and Her Wonderful Product—The Egg—By Participating in the
(>reat Nation-wide Celebration Known as "National Egg Week"
which will take Plaee During the Period of May let to 7th
Inclusive. 1928.
There is a Distinct Place which Every Citixen Can Take in this Pro-
gram whether it be a Dispenser of Educational Publicity, whether it be
an Organizer in Developing Group Activity, whether it be in Staging Ex-
hibits. Delivering Addresees or whether it be in Simply "Eating Moro
Eggs," We Are Playing our Part.
I
"Under the auspices of the Nation-
al Poultry Council a Proclamation
has been issued setting aside May
1st to 7th inclusive, 1928 as "Nation-
al Egg Week." This is the third
year that this national egg celebra-
tion has been staged in this way at
this time. State Committees have'
be^n organized in every state in the1
union and a real worth-while program;
is being developed to make this eel- (
ebration nation-wide and of real ben-;
efit to the great consuming popula-
tion of America.
The 1928 slogan for "National
Egg Week" is "Eat Eggs for Vitam-'
ins" depicting as it does the peculiar
and distinctive value of eggs in the
human diet.
newspaper publicity
The fundamental part of "Nation-
al Egg Week" celebration will con-
sist of nation-wide publicity through-
out the newspapers of the country.
Short snappy stories in farm papers,
metropolitan dailies, poultry jour-
nals,etc., will be extensively used.
The National Poultry Council is sup-
plying a number of such stories dur-
ing early April to State Committees
who will be responsible in arranging
for their publication. The local
state committees will prepare ad-
ditional material.
If you are interested in this ma-
terial, the National Poultry Council
will be pleased to provide you with
the understanding that you use your
influence in getting them published
extensively and commented upon dur-
ing "National Egg Week."
advertising publicity
Local merchants, producers, ship-
pers and other persons interested in
the poultry and egg industry are
planning to do co-operative poultry
advertising during "National Egg
Week," setting forth the aims and
purposes of the celebration at the
same time that they carry their own
advertising copy. This has been done
in previous years very successfully.
radio publicity
The National Poultry Couacil has
prepared excellent radio messages
which together with other similar ad-
dresses prepared by local state com-
mittees will be placed on the air by
the members of the various State
Committees and others interested in
the aims and purposes of the celebra-
tion during the progress of it. There
is not a broadcasting station in the
country, if approached regarding the
matter, who will not be glad to put
these messages on the air.

POSTERS AND STICKERS
The National Poultry Council has
made available and has printed 100,-
000 lithographed posters carrying
the story of eggs in a most beaoti-
ful and impressive manner. These
posters are 13 by 20 inches in size
and are available in lots of 100 to
any person wishing them at 5 cents
each. This includes the mailing cost.
All local poultry associations, com-
panies, corporations, groups of citi
zens interested in the aims and pur-
poses of "National Egg Week
should secure 100 or more copies of
this poster and see that they are dis-
played conspicuously in Post Offices,
railroad stations, stores banks and
other public places where they will
be appreciated by the public on ac-
count of their attractiveness and the
story which they tell.
The National Poultry Council has
also arranged for the printing of
1,000,000 "National Egg Week"
stickers, lithographed in four colors.
They depict Humpty-Dumpty sitting
on the wall telling the world that
"Eggs are Eggs-actly What They
Need." They are filled with human
interest and are just the right sixe
to attach to letters, envelopes, menus
programa and other similar projects.
These stickers ana available to any-
one—individuals or organisations—
wishing them at $5.00 par thousand
sr 100 far $140.
NATIONAL EGG
WEEK EXHIBITS
Many State Committees are enlist-
ing the interest and aid of retail mer-
chants in putting up attractive win-
dow displays featuring eggs in the
diet. Producers are being encour-
aged to co-operate in displaying their
eggs in attractive exhibits in banks
store windows and other appropriate
places. In this connection local egg
shows will be held in many towns
and cities when prizes will be offered
for excellence of quality of the prod-
ucts.
NATIONAL EGG
WEEK PARADES
In many sections of the country,
this year as last year, especially in
the more intensive poultry sections,
May Day, which is the opening day
of "National Egg Week" will be ap-
propriately celebrated by parades of
floats which will depict in an effect-
ive manner the peculiar and wonder-
ful food value of eggs in the human
diet. There are wonderful possibili-
ties in such parades to develop lo-
cal interest and support for the poul-
try industry.
NATIONAL EGG WEEK MENUS
During "National Egg Week"
hotels, restaurants, service and lunch-
eon clubs are heing asked to print
special Egg Week Me.iua and feature
eggs during 'he week of May 1 to7.
Special Egg Week Menu Cards are
being prepared by a majority of the
railroad operating pullman dining
cars where ggs will be featured
