support itself, which may be done in a mo-
ment of time, and in which position the frame
and canopy will be entirely out of the way.
When it is desired to use the canopy, all that
5 is necessary is to pull the long arms or side
bars F toward the foot-board of the bed, when
the supports or frame may be instantly ex-
tended over the bed, so that the canopy or
curtain will effectually cover the same on all
io sides. Of course the top of the frame from
the upper ends of the upright standards B to
the outer ends of the arms F should also be
covered with mosquito-netting or some other
suitable fabric.
15 I am aware that the idea of a folding frame
for canopies is not new. I do not, therefore,
claim such a construction, broadly; but
I claim as new the specific construction
herein described and desire to secure by Let-
20 ters Patent of the United States-
In a frame or support for mosquito-cano-
pies, the combination, with the fixed stand-
ards B and the forwardly-projecting bearings
C, of the braces D, pivoted to bearings C
and united by cross-bar I, the short arms E, 25
pivoted to the upper ends of the fixed stand-
ards, and parallel side bars F, connected by
cross-bars to form a rectangular frame to sup-
port the canopy or curtain and pivoted in-
termediate, respectively, in the outer ends of 30
the short arms E and brace D, substantially
as described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as
my own I have hereunto affixed my signature
in presence of two witnesses.
