regarding the opponents of Mr.
Bailey.
The anti-Bailey men took no
part in the proceedings, being
present merely as spectators.
When the meeting was rover,
and while the streets were
thronged with people, J. C. Bos-
well marched down Main street
with a large oil can labeled "Coal
Oil" and a large canvass banner,
bearing the inscription "Shall
this and Bailey or the People
rule Texas?" This banner was
read by the large crowds and
the anti-Bailey men cheered.
Tbe Bailey convention meets in
Kort Worth on the 28th of April
and the indications are that a
good delegation will go from
Calewell. Members are being jr
received into tbe Bailey club here > .
and at last accounts the nu a: '.>a J :y
had reached 2S5.
