A large crowd attended tbe
masquerade ball here Saturday
night.
About a dozen couples were
masked and successfully repre-
sented the characters imper-
sonated. Miss Liiddie Bettis as
"Oueen of Hearts" was awarded
the prize for the best costume.
Mr. and Mrs. Herman (liesen-
schlag of Somervillc spent Sat-
urday and Sunday with relatives
here.
Richard Wuencber Jr., re-
turned Monday from a few
days visit at Hirch.
W. H. C.raham, manager for
the new oil company, went to
I'ort Worth Sunday to spend a
few (¡ays with home folks.
Miss Pauline Schilling of liur-
ton was the guest of friends here
this week.
Mr. and Mrs. K. K. Giesen-

spent Sunday with friends at
Lone Oak.
Joe Slavacek had business at
Lyons Saturday.
After much delay on account
of defective pipes, work is again
going on steadily at tbe oil well.
Indications are still line and we
hope to be able to report a good
well in the near future.

promising young men. They
arrived here Monday and will
