I thought I would step in and
tell you what I had for dinner
yesterday and today.
We had beef soup and beef
roast, bacon and cabbage, beans,
tomatoes raw, tomatoes cooked,
cucumbers and onions, corn
boiled, corn fried, squashes,
okra. blackeyed peas, beets, corn
bread, butter, butter milk, sweet
milk and ribbon cane syrup, and
to wind up with had as fine a
fresh peach cobbler as a man
ever ate.
Now, it is not so much what
we had. but the fact that every
thing we did have was raised at
home, except the sugar and Hour.
Ves. that is about what we
had on the table those two days,
week. Corn. cane, peas, etc.,, . . , . . , .
' , 'and besides that we have plenty
will be good. \ egetables -ire
plentiful. lotion is growing
of chickens, eggs, home-made
ham. blackberry jam and plenty
of Irish potatoes.
