Robt. Thompson went to Cald-
well Monday to attend court.
Messrs. David II airs ton,
Henry Speck man and Kd Bag-
gett. went to Austin last week to

the ranks were filled ind they re-
turned home Sunday.
A good deal of sickness is re-
portcd in the neighborhood.
W. B. Summervillc. of Caldwell,
is repainting I)r. Neely's resi-
dence and Charley Ceik is doing
repairs.
Farmers are still very busy
w ith their crops and are getting
them in right good shape. Corn,
though small, is l«>oking well;
some of thc early corn is tassel-
ing. The outlool for this cereal,
with n continuiUiftTf *of thc good
season will give a liberal crop.
Mr. (iehrl, who has been men-
tioned in a former local as having
bought land and built a residence
thereon, has recently married a
young lady in Bexar county, and
they are now living in the new

Pastor Spradle\ filled his ap-
pointment Saturday at 11 o'clock
and Sunday the same hour. He
had quite a large audience Sun-
day.
Capt. W. W. Arnold is filing
his saws hoping f->r another large
crop of the fleecy staple.

We regret very much to learn

Large Shipments of Vegetables.
Yoakum, Texas. May 15. For
the past two weeks extensive
shipments of vegetables have
been made from here to north-
ern markets. Last night another
carload was shipped, containing
various kinds of vegetables.
Truck farmers are beginning to
realize that the country ad jacent
to Yoakum is as well suited to
raising vegetables as any in the
State.
