VETERAN REUNIONS.
The 41st annual reunion of
Green's Brigade of Texas
Mounted Volunteers held at
Houston on the 23d and 24th
of June, under the super-
vision of the Oran Roberts
Chapter United Daughters of
the Confederacy, was a suc-
cess far beyond the expecta-
tion of the Brigade member*
ship. The members of that
Chapter, of which Mrs. B, B.
Knolle is the hustling, ener-
getic, popular commander,
who has probably done more
to assist and entertain Con-
federate Veterans than any
other Chapter iu the State.
However, it must be under-
stood that Houstouian8 do
nothing by halves—they go
the whole hog or none. Every

NO AMERICAN PARTY
IN THÍS COUNTY
The American party speak-
er closed his campaign in
this county at Deanville last
week with Frank Kadanka
camping on his trail, and al-
though he made many pleas
and promises to the people to
stay out of the primaries, he
never at any time guaranteed
thetn that his party would
or had any chance to to elect
any officer in Texas at the
coming election. We don't
believe our people, especially
the Bohemians, will go back
on a democratic government
whose president stood by
them and gave their country
freedoin over the protest ot
the entire Europe, which they
Vould never have had, had
it not béen tor Wood row Wil-
son and his administration.
We believe this freedom will
be appreciated far .nore than
anything the American party
or any other party c'ould of-
fer them, and that they will
he men true and tried and
show it by going into the
Democratic primaries and
voting ti e ticket straight
from president to constable
iu ¡he November election.

THE Buick Valve-In-Head motor car is interna-
tionally recognised as the "first choice car."
It has gained this unusual distinction through
twenty years of dependable service.
Motor car purchasers have watched the perform-
ance of the thousands of Buick cars in daily
operation and they have witnessed their wonder-
ful efficiency and endurance. Buick speed and
power have proven to their satisfaction that
"there is no substitute" for the Buick Valve-In-
Head, and these buyers are demanding the Buick
and patiently waiting for their local dealer's
ability to deliver.
Each week and month this list of buyers steadily
increases—those who delay in placing their orders
early must expect a longer delay in ownership.
