Let thoee who would walk down the aisles of greatness first
dig a channel hito which men's thoughts will flow like a torrent;
a key thai wiU unlock the door of wisdom; plant a civilisa

PREHISTORIC TOUT.
Xrchaelogical researches mads at
a spot some twenty miles from Ksrs
hsve brought to light s completely
intsct stone fortress of prehistoric
date. The masonry of the primi-
tively designed forts and bait ions is
somewhat roughly but extremely
well laid. Among the many and
various objects found are quits a
number of well preserved figures of
heathen gods, . mostly in animal
forms and in a kind of hard baked
porter's clay. According to the de-
scription of these fifgures given in the
Kara dispatch they appear to bear a
close resemblance to similar objects
