Picnic at Friendship.
At Friendship, 4 miles east of
town, along the edge of Tonk
Creek, hedged in and about with
a cluster of shade trees and a coat
*
of waiving grass covering the
ground, is situated an arbor, at
which place last Saturday was
given a picnic by the people of
that community.
The name Friendship is truly
appropriate to this spot, as the
people are congenial, sociable
and friendly.
The crowd began to gather
early and the forenoon was spent
in hand-shaking and social con-
versations. At noon a magnifi-
cent dinner was spread. Beef
and chicken soup was served
contemporaneously with so many
other things that go to make up
a real picnic dinner.
After dinner the candidates all
made their wants known to the
"dear people" after which the
Frindship and Brandenburg ball
teams crossed bats. Supper was
also served late in the afternoon.
All those who attended re-
port this picnic as one of the
best they ever attended.
