We, your platform committee
beg leave to submit the following
report, to-wit:
We endorse in full the platform
of the recent National Democratic
platform as adopted by the
Democratic National Convention
assembled at Denver Colorado.
We recommend the adoption
of the following platform de-
mands by the coming Democratic
State Convention:
1st. The establishment of a
State Normal college in North-
west Texas.
2nd. The establishment of an
A. & M. college at some suitable
point in Northwest Tfcxas.
3rd. The enactment of legis-
lation dealing fairly with rail-
roads aud other corporations
seeking to develop our state.
We favor the practice of a rigid
economy in the administration of
our government in national, state
and county affairs and the levy
and collection of taxes sufficient
to carry on all economically.
We favor the establishment of
more and better roads in our
county and recommend that
legislation be enacted whereby
sufficient taxes can be levied to
accomplish that purpose.
Respectfully submitted,
Ernest Herring,
R. M. Reed.
