Card Of Thanks
He is away, but each day
A bit of him is found
Where there is joy and love
And gentle strength around,
Wherever there is courage,
A word sincere and kind,
He smiles again with us,
Bringing memories to mind,
So believe in these small things
As constantly as a prayer
For somehow those we cherish
In love are always there.
All of the prayers, love, flowers and food were
deeply appreciated. God bless all of you who
share our sorrow over the tragic loss of our
beloved son and grandson, Steven Wayne
Bostick.

Tigers
Continued from p.1
Ransom all made some
outstanding defensive
plays and accounted for
the most tackles.
Coach Miller had
praise for Michael Mc-
Broom, who as a fresh-
man, was making his
first varsity start as the
Tiger quarterback.
Michael threw for a t
total of 136 yards with 6 -
completions out of 24
attempts.
Miller blamed the
Tiger inability to get
any kind of a consistant
drive going on a lack of
execution by the offen-
sive backs. The inabil-
ity to execute properly
was not entirely the
fault of the players.
Running backs Rodney
and Mark Lewis missed
two days of practice
due to illness. Rodney
Lewis was switched to
fullback, Mark Lewis
and Bobby Coldiron
were being switched to
tailback, all new posi-
tions for these players.
At 6 p.m., 1%
hours prior to kickoff
Bobby Coldiron had to
be taken to the Green-
ville Hospital with a
high fever. Confronted
withthese last minutes
problem, Coach Miller
had to move Rodney
Lewis back to tailback
and Mark Lewis to the
fullback position. As
Coach Miller stated,
“No one in the back-
field had had an op-
portunity to work out at
the position they were
forced to play Friday
night.” To compound
this problem Michael
McBroom had only had
one week of practice
with the varsity back-
field.
Compounding the
offensive problem fur-
ther McBroom did not
get the outside protec-
tion required to allow
him to set up and look
for open receivers. Sev-
eral times he had to
throw off balance and
under heavy pressure.
Rodney Lewis led,
the Tigers in rushing
with a total of 81 yards,
in 13 carries. The
Tigers total rushing
yardage was 89. Gary
Glenewinkle was on the
receiving end of 5
McBroom passes for a
total of 136 yards.
Curtis Brown caught 4
McBroom aerials.
The Tigers meet
Princeton there at 7:30
p.m. Friday night.
Princeton has a 1 and 3
record. They have lost
to Whitewright, Quin-
lan, and Cooper. Last
Friday night they de-
feated Little Elm 33 to
0.
Coach Miller said,
“It will take a good
effort to defeat Prince-
ton. I am expecting a
good effort.”
In the backfield
next week, McBroom
will be making his
second start at the
quarterback position,
Bobby Coldiron will be
at the tailback position
and Rodney Lewis will
start at the fullback
position.
Coach Miller feels
the team should be
back, or near to, full
strength Friday night.
“Eddie Aguirre and
Rodney Lewis will both
be healthy and should
be able to play both
ways Friday night,”
Coach Miller said.
