Bud Taylor, Terre Haute, and Tony
Canzoneri, New York, battled to t
fierce draw in a ten round bout gen>
erally accepted as for the bantam-
weight championship; here tonight.
The decision was received with
cheers mingled with a chorus of boos
as the crowd evidently favored Tay-
lor's whirlwind assault.
ROUND ONE
Canzoneri missed a wild right to
the head, starting off with a wild
swing. Canzoneri landed a right and
left to the head and they clinched.
He peppered Taylor with two more
rights, but Bud ripped both hands
to the body. Canzoneri hooked a left
and right to the jaw. They exchang-
ed lefts to the head. Taylor dug a
left to the body and repeated, duck-
ing two rights to the head. Taylor
hooked two more lefts to the body
and they backed to the ropes to es-
cape Canzoneri's rights. Canzoneri
missed a left and right to thl head.
They clinched with no damage. Each
was bleeding from the right eye at
the end of the round.
ROUND TWO
Canzoneri stabbed two lefts to the
face. Taylor took a left to the body
and a right to the head. Tony duck-
ed Taylor's left and brought both
fists to the body. Taylor dodged un-
der a right and left to the head and
hooked a left to the body. Both miss-
ed lefts to the head. Taylor ripped
a left to the body but was short with
a left to the head. Tony landed a
left and right to the head as they
met. They traded rights and lefts
to the head. Taylor hooked a left to
the body. Taylor popped three lefts
to the body and drove a right to the
body as the round ended.
ROUND THREE
Both were short with lefts. Tay-
lor drove a left and right to the
body in close. Tony stabbed him with
three lefts to the head and shot two
rights to the jaw. They exchanged
body blows at close range. Canzoneri
landed a left and right to the jaw
and Taylor two lefts to the body.

universities was broken at the Rice
Institute relay games here today
when Iowa tSate won the medley re-
lay in 7:34 4 as compared with 7:,'55
made by the University of Texas in

The American half mile university
relay record .of 1:27.1 also was ap-
proached by Michigan State and ap-
proximately ten Rice relay records
were bettered.
One thousand and two athletes
from 82 schools, representing 15 sta-
tes and two countries were entered.

ATLANTA, Ga.. March 2G. (AP)
—.Milburn Sheffner, pitcher for the
Rochester Internatninals, who played
an exhibition game here today, was
found in an unconscious conditions
under the grnadstand at the local
park this afternoon. He was report-
ed in a critical condition at a hos-
pital late today.
A broken bat was found near ihm.
Sheffner pitched the first four inn-
ings of the game this afternoon
against the Atlanta club and left the
game in the fifth.
He was seen to go to the club
house, after retiring from hie field.
In the third inning. Sheffner hit
Zoeller. Cracker outfielder on the
head with a pitched ball. The Atlan-
ta player attempted to chase the Ro-
chester hurler with a bat at the
tfbe, but was persuaded by fellow
players to leave the field.
He later was found to be : eriously
hut, according to club authorities
and was carried to the club house
where a light anaesthetic Was admin-
istered. At the time Sheffner re-
tired frrfin the game, officials said
Zoeller was asleep in the Cracker
dugout.
It was feared at the hospital that
Sheffnor's neck had been broken.

oil paintings in four clases in com-

were announced today by the Sun

wildflower pictures in which prizes of
$5,000 and $1,000 were given to
