So many hunters are bringing ia

Thampson of Devine and a number
of other fine stock enthusiasts were
at the Stock Yards yesterday morn-
ing to look at the purebred heifers
which were shipped in from Fort
Worth yesterday for B G. Barnes of
the Indio Cattle Company, in Mav- |
erick county and Hal Mangum of
Uvalde. They were all unanimous
in the opinion that they were just
the the class of stuff tbst would add
materially to the quality of South
Texas output during the coming ,

Death again invaded our little city,
snd chimed as his victim, little 1
Mollie, the seven-year-old daughter
of Prof. and Mrs. W. N. Saathoff, st
11:30 o’clock Tuesday night, Nov. 17,
1914. The little one had been ill
only a short time with membran-
ous croup and her sudden demise
came as a terrible shock to her
parents and brother and sisters.

Mrs. Jno. T. Briscoe was hostess

honor of Miss Dawn Cook on Friday
afternoon, November 20th, The
guests were invited to playa few
tames of 42, The score cards were
hand made satin hearta the score be-
ing kept by tiny little hearta. At
the conclusion of the games Miss May
Howard had the highest score and
was given as s reward a beautiful
hand painted butter tray, the
honoree received a dainty bon-bon
dish.
Just as the games were finished
the hostess announced the express-
man had delivered some baggage for
Miss Cook and a trunk was then
rolled in snd opened, It was found
to contain much handsomely em-
broidered linen and hand painted
china, dainty handkerchiefs, hose
and etc.
A delightful salad course was
served to about thirty guests.
