This week we have a
photo, above, of King
Baudoin of Belgium greet-
ing my cousin, Philippe
Altenloh, at a small party
in Brussels.
It was a case of royalty
meeting royalty. Rest as-
sured Philippe didn’t spare
the king. He told him that
he (and I) are direct
descendants of Charle-
magne (800 A.D.) five
French Kings, and one
German Emperor, then
added Saint Arnolfe Bishop
of Metz (619 A.D.) for good
measure. In fact, there is
hardly a soul in Europe
who hasn’t been button-
holed on it.
- Mike Gilbert of the
Goldthwaite EMS escaped
from England before Phil-
ippe could get to him.
King Baudoin expressed
his delight that Philippe is
after all a Belgian subject.
Now Philippe in an even
madder moment mentions
that he may come to
Moline for a visit. If he
means it, wife Shirley will

duck, while eating a set of
