Cleaning
nous£ sW
-KV ffl
Once or twice a year the good house-
wife has a thorough house cleaning. The
house has been swept and dusted every
day in the year but the housewife knows
that in spite of vigilance dust accumu-
lates in cracks and corners and is only
to be removed by special effort.
It's the same way with the body. You
look after it every day. You take all
the ordinary precautions of cleanliness
and health. Yet the body needs its
special cleaning to rid it of the accumu-
lations of waste and poisonous matter
which invite disease. Doctor Pierce’s
Golden Medical Discovery taken regu-
larly once or twice a year would save
many a sickness. It purifies the blood
strengthens the stomach and cleanses
the body of poisonous accumulations.
"Last spring I had a severe attack of pneu-
monia. which left me with a bad cough and
also left mv lungs in a very bad condition
writes John M. Russell. Esq. of Brent. Cherokee
Nat . Ind. Ter. "I had no appetite and was so
weak I could scarcely walk. .My breast was
all sore with running sores. I got two bottles
Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery which I
believe saved my life. I canuot express my
gratitude to you. I am able now to do very
good work.”

covers sent free on receipt of 21 one-
cent stamps to pay cost of mailing only.

A few days ago we noticed that
the West side school children bad
given Miss Hooks their teacher a
“fruit sprinkle” and yesterday the
children in the room of Miss Halli-

the fruit contagion will spread until
the teachers all get a benefit.

The Dallas News reports a char-
ter granted to the Texarkana Opera
House Company from the author-
ities at Austin Texas. We learn
from Mayor Hardin that the ex
cavations will be finished today and
that he has engaged a mason to
put in the found ition walls in brick
and cement and that work will be
gin right away on this part of the
building.
Rev. G. C. Hardy pastor of the
Fairview Church left this morning
for Timpson Texas to attend Con-
ference and to receive his appoint
inent for his new field or returfr
here. We have been told by one o'
the members of his congregation
that the church settled with him in
full. Should he be returned the
people will be glad yet they leave
it all to the Conference and are
making no effort to retain him or
ask for a change. We have known
Mr. Hardy for a number of years
and know him to be a Christian
gentleman. We can only wish that
wherever his work may be cast he
will find peace and plentitude await-
ing him.
Mr. Jim Christopher returned to
Spurgeon Missouri this afternoon.
He tells us he and a brother have
■ leased 8 acres at this place and
• have sunk three shafts in search of
lead and zinc and have found it in
all three of the shafts. He says
• Spurgeon was the first place where
lead was discovered—this was in
1852 when the ore was taken to St.
Louis in wagons. The miners were
; abandoned when the civil war came
up and have only recently sprang
into prominence. He says the little
mining town is now a place of 3000
r inhabitants living in shanties and
tents. The way to reach this camp
is via Neosho and from there in
3 hacks 12 miles from the railroad.
