FIXING TIME FOR FILING TRANSCRIPT, CIVIL
APPEALS COURT.
S. B. No. 63.] CHAPTER 66.
An Act to amend Article 1839, Chapter 3, Title 39, of the Revised Civil
Statutes, so as to fix the time for filing the transcript in the Court of
Civil Appeals and providing for an extension of such time for cause
shown; and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That Article 1839, Chapter 3, Title 39 of the Revised
Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, be and it is hereby amended
so as hereafter to read as follows:
"Article 1839. In appeal or Writ of Error the appellant or
plaintiff in error shall file the transcript with the Clerk of the
Court of Civil Appeals within sixty days from the final Judgment
or Order overruling motion for new trial, or perfection of
the Writ of Error; provided, that for good cause shown before
the expiration of such sixty day period, the Court shall permit
the transcript to be thereafter filed upon such terms as it shall
prescribe.
SEC. 2. All laws and parts of laws in conflict herewith be and
the same are hereby repealed.
SEC. 3. The fact that the crowded condition of fhe dockets of
the trial and Appellate Courts of the State demands that the
laws governing the practice and procedure therein be so amended
as to expedite and simplify the business of the Courts as soon
as possible creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity
that the Constitutional Rule requiring bills to be read
on three several days be suspended, said Rule is hereby suspended,
and this Act shall take effect and be in force from and
after its passage, and it is so enacted.
Approved April 21, 1931.
Effective 90 days after adjournment.

of Exception, and providing for the extension of time where good
cause is shown; and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That Article 2246 of Chapter 11, Title 42 of the
Revised Civil Statutes of Texas, 1925, be and is hereby amended
so as hereafter to read as follows:
