in office shall discharge the duties of commissioners of said
Brazoria County Drainage District No. 6 during the year 1930,
and until their successors are appointed by the Commissioners'
Court of Brazoria County, Texas, and have qualified in the time
and manner provided by said Chapter,
SEC. 5. All obligations, contracts and indebtedness heretofore
legally created by and on behalf of Brazoria County Drainage
District No. 6 prior to its conversion by this Act, and all
obligations, contracts and indebtedness heretofore legally created
by and on behalf of said Brazoria County Drainage District
No. 6, embracing the territory hereinabove described in Section
1, are hereby expressly imposed upon said Brazoria County
Drainage District No. 6, hereby created, and shall be executed
and discharged by the said Brazoria County Drainage District
No. 6, and the said Drainage District hereby created as a conservation
and reclamation district shall be held to have assumed
the discharge of all such, obligations, contracts and indebtedness
and the same shall be enforceable, collectable from, paid
and discharged, by said Brazoria County Drainage District No.
6, as herenow created as a conservation and reclamation district,
particularly $80,000.)0 bonds issued by order of the Commissioners'
Court of Brazoria County November 25, 1912, recorded
in Volume "K", page 294 of the minutes thereof, dated
October 10, 1912, maturing serially from October 10, 1913, to
October 10, 1936, both inclusive, said bonds numbered from 1
to 80 inclusive; said $80,000.00 bonds or such part thereof as
are now outstanding, are hereby ratified, validated, approved,
confirmed and assumed by the said Brazoria County Drainage
District No. 6, as herein converted as a conservation and
reclamation district, and the said bonds, both principal and
interest, now remaining unpaid shall be paid off and discharged
by the said Brazoria County Drainage District No. 6, as here
created, it being the intent hereof to convert said Brazoria
County Drainage District No. 6 into a conservation and reclamation
district, without change of name, or impairment to any of
its obligations, and the same shall be a conservation and
reclamation district under the provisions of Section 59 of Article
16 of the State Constitution and the said district shall be hereafter
known as Brazoria County Drainage District No. 6, and
shall have and may exercise all the powers, authority, functions
and privileges provided in constitutional and statutory provisions
hereinabove mentioned.
SEC. 6. The said Brazoria County Drainage District No. 6
shall own all property and rights in property, especially including
current and delinquent taxes, heretofore owned by the said
Brazoria County Drainage District No. 6, and the title to same
is hereby vested in said district as now created, to be held and
used under the provisions of Section 59 of Article 16 of the
State Constitution and the provisions of the General Laws enacted
in pursuance thereof.
SEC. 7. The said Brazoria County Drainage District No. 6
