The Federal Housing Units, of
brick apartments, have been
rented and are now being oc-
cupied by: Mrs. Pansy Copeland;
Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Carlile; Mrs.
Mae Campbell; Mrs. Bell Dilling-
ham; Mrs. Rowena Payne; Mrs.
J. C. Fort; Mrs. Margaret Coyle;
Mr. and Mrs. Andy Jeffcoat and
family; Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Bow-

Tueday For
Mrs. Mays
Mrs. Millie Ann Mays, 93 of
Frisco, died Sunday in Collin
Memorial Hospital. Funeral serv-
ices were held Tuesday at 2 p.m.
in the Frisco Methodist Church,
of which she was a member.
Revs. Don Swain, T. H. Minga
Mrs. R. R. McLain was hos-
pitalized one day last week.
Relatives visiting her at her
home were Mr. and Mrs. Jim
Sadler of Bowie; Mr. and Mrs.
Thomas Wrenn of Savoy; Mr.
and Mrs. Willard Wrenn of Ft.
Worth; Mr. and Mrs. Jno. Ball
and daughter, Jill of Sherman.
L. A. Caldwell is traveling
abroad. He is tourin Jeru-
salem, Nazareth, Paris, France
and Rome, Italy.
Mrs. Jessie Evans has return-
ed home after a most pleasant
visit with her friend, Mrs. Bertha
Wilson, who is spending the win-

Services Held
Tuesday Evening
John W. Milstead, 85, residing
at 1006 N. College, died Sunday
in The Pavilion. He was a life-
time resident of Collin County,
born Feb. 21, 1884, the son of J.
B. and Nancy Milstead. He was
a member of North Baptist
Church, i
He married Lizzie Roberson
Feb. 1, 1920.
Surviving are a son, J. C. Mil-
stead of Plano; daughter, Miss
Dora Milstead of McKinney; two
brothers, T. A. Milstead of Shaw-
nee, Okla.; L. M. Milstead of Mc-
Kinney, several nieces and neph-
ews.
Funeral services were held at
3 p.m. Tuesday at North Baptist
Church, conducted by Revs. Joe
Bob Alexander and G. B. Brad-
shaw. Interment was a Rigde-
view Memorial Park, Turrentine-
Jackson Funeral Directors, in
charge.

Held Wednesday
Mrs. Lorene Tucker, 43, of 1414
N. College Street, died Monday
in Wysong hospital. Funeral
services were held at 2 p.m. Wed-
nesday in Turrentine - Jackson
chapel, Rev. David Kuykendall
officiating. Burial was in Ridge-
view Memorial Park.
She was born in Collin Coun-
ty, Sept. 1, 1925, the daughter of
Dewey and Irene Bailey. She
was of Baptist faith.
Surviving are her husband A.
D. Tucker; two daughters, Mrs.
Lee Wood and Miss Becky Hines
of McKinney; two grandchildren;
her father, Dewey Bailey of Ten-
nessee; four brothers, Cecil
Bailey of McKinney; Clint Recer
of Irving and Billy and Bow
Gamble both of Dallas; two sis-
ters, Mrs. Virginia Clark, Ten-
nessee; Miss Helen Gamble of
Dallas.
and Bruce Wills officiated.
Burial was in Restland Memorial
Park with Staley Funeral Home
in charge.
She was born Feb. 26, 1875
in Summerville, Ala., the daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Buck Blan-
kenship, and was married in 1895
to W. E. Mays who preceded her
in death in 1954.
Mrs. Mays came to Frisco in
1916 where she was active in
the Methodist church and East-
ern Star.
Surviving are five sons, Elkin,
W. D. and Jess all of Frisco;
Avery of Dallas; Walter of Long-
view; three daughters, Mrs. Ellen
Fuqua of Justin; Mrs. Mary Gary
of Denton and Mrs. Evlyn Wood
of Dallas; 30 grandchildren and
51 great-granchildren.

Monday For
Mrs. Baldwin
Funeral services for Mrs. Net-
tie Baldwin, 90, of Dallas, form-
- erly of McKinney, were held at
10:30 a.m. Monday at Plano.
Burial was in Pecan Grove Ceme-
tery in McKinney.
Mrs. Baldwin, a resident of
Collin and Dallas counties for 72
years, died Friday in a Dallas
hospital. She was a life-time
member of the Presbyterian
Church.
She was born Minerva An-
nette Dickerson on Jan. 6, 1879
in Courtney, Washington Coun-
ty, Ark., near Fayetteville, the
daughter of Robert M. and Mary
Jane Strain Dickerson.
In 1897 the family moved to
Murphy, later to Plano and Mc-
Kinney. Mrs. Baldwin was the
widow of Eugene G. Baldwin,
Collin County commissioner who
died in 1938. She was also pre-
ceded in death by her son, Roy
J. Baldwin, and a daughter, Nel-
lie Gray Baldwin.
Survivors include her daugh-
ter. Mrs. Lena M. Waits of Dal-
las; four grandchildren, Alger
Wiats, Jr. of Bandera; Miss
Frankie Waits of Denver, Colo.;
Army Maj. Roy G. Baldwin of
Redstone Arsenal Ala.; Marine
Lt. Don G. Baldwin of Quantico,
Va.; her sister, Mrs. Lydia Goss
of Raymondville and seven great-
grandchildren.

4-H Club Has
Monthly Meeting
The March Business Meeting
of the 4 C’s for 4-H Club was
called to order by Frank Kerby,
Club President with 27 persons
in attendance. The Roll Call and
Minutes were taken by Cathy
Spurgin. Janet Spurgin gave as
a devotional, a quotation from
Red Skelton on the United States
Pledge to the Flag. Martha Mc-
Creary lead the 4-H Pledge and
Motto and Twila Humphries lead
Pledge io United State Flag.
Helen Spurgin lead the group in
singing America.
A report of the recent bake
sale was given by Jeff Spurgin.
Martha McCreary expressed ap-
preciation to members and par-
ents who helped it to be such
a success. Martha reported on re-
cent leadership and recreation
lab that Mrs. Leslie McCreary,
Mrs. Jean Spurgin, and she at-
tended in McKinney and Green-
ville.
A County Council was an-
nounced to be held at 7:30 in the
Texas Power and Light Company-
Meeting Room, Monday March
24th.
Cathy Spurgin gave a brief
methods demonstration on Meats
to encourage juniors to enter the
upcoming contest. Lewis McDon-
ald was responsible for the prog-
ram of the evening. Dr. Morris
veterinarian from McKinney
gave a talk on importance of pre-
ventionary measures for animals
and the care of young ones. His
talk was very beneficial to all
those present.
Connie Nicholson lead the
group in songs and games. Re-
freshment were furnished by
Janet and Helen Spurgin, Larry
Humphries and Frank Kerby and
were enjoyed by all.
