The vote on the sewerage proposition
on Saturday was very badly defeated.
The vote was unusually light and stood:
For 304; against 030. The following Is

Very little was done In this court this
morning beyond the continuance of
most of the cases set for tho day.
Hen Harrison for robbing was con-
tinued upon allldavlt and Ous Huebner
charged with assault to murder and
John Hopwood charged with horse
stealing were continued by consent.
Henry Drisch charged with assault to
murder was next called and the County
Attorney required a written showing
for continuance.

marten grand and successful effort to
make bis millinery department com-
plete. His trade in that line has grown
bo rapidly that he has found it necessary
to keep two lirst class milliners the last
of whom a French lady arrived a few
days since from New 1 ork where she
carried on a millinery establishment for
a year and previously In Purls for a
number of years. Mr. Wolfson can now
furnish a large variety of millinery

supervision over it.

the worst mud holes in tho city.

brick front Is being put on tho little

this morning. There were 53 rases In
nil. Nono were tried this morning.
An Infant six months old K. Joseph
Flaoke by name died yesterday of gas-
tro enteritis. The body was shipped to
ualveston.

prospects for a lino crop nro en

Complaint Is inado that tho children

In order to reach tho Second ward

Tho ltev. Mr. Nell took for his text
on Sunday morning at the Presbyterian

The Injunction restraining tho olty
from removing the fences which closed

morrow morning In Justice Adnm's
court.
Ed Keese the popular representa
tive of Paul J.'s XXXX. old Mononga-
hela has been In the city two days In-
terviewing tho dispensers of good
liquors. This Is his first tour In Texas
and he Is making friends and Increasing
