At I o'clock this afternoon the jury came
in with a verdict of not guilty in favor of
George Whiting he having been charged with
thootiog at OSicer Willis. On hit release there
was a rush of thedefendant't friendt to shake
hands with him.
To-morrow night the ladies of the Chris
tian church will give a supper to aid In build
ing a church here. Thts will take place at
No 410 East Houston street. This church
has been struggling so laboriously that Its
eal and energy are alone worthy of the best
upport of the religiously inclined.
