WORKMEN'S COMPENSATION-PAYMENTS.
S. B. No. 117.] CHAPTER 60.
An Act to amend Section 6, Article 8306, Part 1 of Title 1X30, Revised Civil
Statutes of 1925, by providing that if the incapacity continues for four
(4) weeks or longer compensation shall be computed from the inception
of such incapacity, and declaring an emergency.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Texas:
SECTION 1. That Section 6 of Article 8306, Part 1, Title 130,
Revised Civil Statutes of 1925, be amended, and the same is
hereby amended to read, as follcws, to-wit:
Section 6. No compensation shall be paid under this law for
an injury which does not incapacitate the employe for a period
of at least one week from earning full wages, but if incapacity
extends beyond one week compensation shall begin to accrue
on the eight day after the injury. The medical aid, hospital
services, and medicines, as provided for in Section 7 hereof,
shall be supplied as and when needed and according to the terms
and provisions of said Section 7. If incapacity does not follow
at once after the infliction of the injury or within eight days
thereof but does result subsequently, compensation shall begin
to accrue with the eight day after the date incapacity commenced.
In any event the employe shall be entitled to the
medical aid, hospital service and medicines provided in this law.
Provided further, that if such incapacty continues for four (4)
weeks or longer, compensation shall be computed from the inception
date of such incapacity.
SEC. 2. The fact that there is now no provision of the statutes
relating to the compensation to be paid for the first week of
the incapacity resulting from an injury and that this law is designed
to properly care for those injured in the industries of
this State, creates an emergency, and an imperative public necessity
exists requiring that the rule requiring bills to be read
on three several days be suspended, and the same is suspended,
and this bill shall take effect from and after its passage, and it
is so enacted.

Effective ninety (90) days after adjournment.
