Dear Sirs:
The Historical Commission
is due much credit for
obtaining the plaque com-
memorating the founding of
the Eagle, then the Moun-
taineer, by Mr. W. H.
Thompson. Scott and I wish
to express our thanks for this
tribute to our father.
For the record, R. M.
Thompson, who later pub-
lished the Eagle, was a
nephew of W. H. Thompson,
not his son. Mr. Stokes, Jr.,
married R. M. Thompson’s
daughter, so their son is not
a great grandson of W. H.
Thompson. His mother was a
great niece.
It is nice that Goldthwaite
has the Historical Commis-
sion. Again, our thanks.
Sincerely,
6c per word including
name and address for first
insertion and 5c per word for
each subsequent insertion.

lutions of Respect and all
other matter not news will be
charged for at regular
advertising rates. No charge
is made for news of church or

Where admission is charged
