ON EXHIBITIOH
An exhibition of painting* by dix-
tinguished California artists will be
held in room 2211. Medical Arte build-
ing beginning Saturday May 1 and
continuing until May 15. The exhibi-
tion is being held under the auspices
of the San Antonio Art League. Mrs.
E. P. McGill is in charge. The show-
ing will be ojten from 2 to t> p. m.
Saturday and from 10 a. m. to 0 p. m.
on week days and from 2 to 5 p. m.
on Sundays.

WASHINGTON. April 30.—<4>)—
The Shipping board has sold two lake
type xtonmers-/Lake Elwin and Lake
Saribault part of the government's
idle fleet in the James river near Nor-
folk. Va. to the Italian firm. Indus-
trial Navali Societa Anonima of
Genoa for $25000 cash each. With
the restriction that the vessels should
enter American ports only to load
outbound grain or coal cargoes the
sale is in line with the board's plan to
dispose of surplus ships of this type.

DENTON Tex. April 30—One of
the largest frog farms In the country
is under construction near here. Sev-
eral dams are being built and 'a low
swampy section already plentiful with
frogs is being further stocked.
The frogs will be raised for Texas
and other markets. *
One of the preliminary operations
was the draining of the lakes to get
rid of fish a menace to frogs. Sev-
eral miles of fence will be built around
the lakes to keep out snakrs. another
enemy of frogs.
Neff Defends Dry

CHICAGO April 30.—0P)-Pat M.
Neff twice governor of Texas was
cheered for hip defense of prohibition
in a speech here last night before
delegates to the men's council of the
Chicago area of the Methodist Epis-
copal church. He advocated throw-
ing liquor brought here in fujeign
ships into the ocean just as the eat-
lier colonists threw English tea into
the Boston harbor. Jail sentences
for bootleggers and no paroles or
pardons were urged by the former
governor.
