1 AN ACT
2 relating to the use of graywater.
3 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
4 SECTION 1. Section 26.0311, Water Code, is amended to read
5 as follows:
6 Sec. 26.0311. STANDARDS FOR CONTROL OF GRAYWATER
7 [GRYWAIER]. (a) In this section, "graywater" ["ywa ] means
8 wastewater from clothes washing machines,- showers, bathtubs,
9 handwashing lavatories, and sinks that are not used for disposal of
10 hazardous or toxic ingredients. The term does not include
11 wastewater:
12 (1) that has come in contact with toilet waste;
13 (2) from the washing of material, including diapers,
14 soiled with human excreta; or
15 (3) from sinks used for food preparation or disposal.
16 (b) The commission by rule shall adopt and implement minimum
17 standards for the use of graywater for:
18 (1) [ g.wtc - ] irrigation and [#e*] other
19 agricultural purposes;
20 (2) [-r] domestic use, to the extent consistent with
21 Section 341.039, Health and Safety Code;
22 (3) [7] commercial purposes; [-,T] and
23 (4) industrIial purposes.
