1 AN ACT
2 relating to the purposes for which a special utility district may be
3 created.
4 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
5 SECTION 1i. Section 65.012, Water Code, is amended to read as
6 follows:
7 Sec. 65.012. PURPOSES OF DISTRICT. A district may be
8 crFeated [for cfolw puro] :
9 (1) to purchase, own, hold, lease, and otherwise
10 acquire sources of water supply; to build, operate, and maintain
11 facilities for the transportation of water; and to sell water to
12 towns, cities, and other political subdivisions of this state, to
13 private business entities, and to individuals;
14 (2) for the establishment, operation, and maintenance
15 of fire-fighting facilities to perform all fire-fighting
16 activities within the district; or [aLd]
17 . (3) for the protection, preservation, and restoration
18 of the purity and sanitary condition of water within the district.
19 SECTION 2. Section 65.015, Water Code, is amended to read as
20 follows:
21 Sec. 65.015. CONTENTS OF RESOLUTION. In addition to the
22 requirements stated in Section 65.014, the resolution shall:
