Table Setting
Topic Tuesday
Of Garden Club
Mrs. J. L. Leazer gave a talk
on “Let’s Set the Table” for the
Evening Garden club members
in the home of Mrs. Annie Stin-
son, 431 South Dixon street, Tues-
day evening. Mmes. Clay Brooks
and J. E. King were co-hostesses.
Mrs. Leazer stressed color and
its limitless combinations, the
meaning of design, and the ef-
fect of lighting. She also told of
crystal, china, silverware and
linens and how they should be
used. ;
Mmes. E. McWilliams and
L. V. Henry arranged a Thanks-
giving table with early Ameri-
can plates in rose color design,
and a centerpiece of chrysan-
themums in corresponding color
to the plates. Black candles were
in harmony with the black foot-
ing of the crystal. The table was
judged by nationally accredited
judges, Mmes. R. E. Bandy, Jr.,
Austina Roberts and Hans Cook.
Mrs. Bandy, president, con-
ducted the business session and
Mrs. G. H. Holland read the col-
lect. The club voted to place a
plaque, designating the R. F.
Brannan property as a redbud
preserve and accepted it as a
conservation project for the year.
The hostesses served a refresh-
ment plate of cranberry tarts and
spiced punch.
