met at the East Fork Baptist
Church Monday night, Aug. 19-
These churches are Branch, Lu-
cas, East Fork, Friendship and
Culleoka. There were 227 pres-
ent at the conference and Lucas
presented the program with
“Faith” as their topic. Lucas

Oklahoma, returned home last
week from a visit at her daugh-
ter’s, Mr. and Mrs. Orville Mc-
Donald of the Winningkoff com-
munity.

weeks vacation. During the early
part of her vacation she attended
Spears Educational Seminar and
Post Graduate Class at Spears
Chiropractic Hospital in Den-
ver, Colorado, August 5-8
Following the Denver trip, Dr.
Green visited Wyoming, Utah,
Idaho, Oregon, Washington,
Montana, North Dakota, Minne-
sota, Wisconsin, Missouri and
Arkansas.

Sorry to hear of Geno Wilson
of Plano being hospitalized for
few days having surgery on his
hand which was crushed in the
air conditioner of a car- His
friends are glad that he is bet-
ter.
A committee of the Baptist
Church, consisting of Wallace

Tomberlin, Opal Harvey and
Laura Reeder, met in the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Reeder and se-
lected officers and teachers for
the church for the coming year.

Mrs. Grace McTee
Passes Away at Home
Mrs- Grace McTee passed
away Friday at her home, Route
One, Blue Ridge. She was a na-
tive of Arkansas, born March 17,
1877, the daughter of James and
Susan Gray.
Funeral services were held at
3 p.m. Sunday in the Blue Ridge
Church of Christ, conducted by
Revs. Peck Williams, Tom Jen-
nings and W. S. Milton, with
burial in the Verona Cemetery,

Fort Worth, the mother and sis-
ter of Bill Stover, visited here:
Mr. Stover is the husband of the
former Miss Olena Ruth Martin.
Bill and Aleva are rejoicing over
a newborn grandson named Wes-
ley Dee, the senior Mrs. Stover
and daughter were visiting the
grave of her husband and the
daughter’s father here at the
cemetery one day last week.
Mrs. Geo Chambers’ is a pa-
tient in Collin Memorial Hospi-
tal. Her daughter, Mrs. Edward
Taube and children, Warren, Ed-
qualene and Charlotte Williams,
from Beckville, Texas have been
at her bedside.
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Cates and
son, Kenneth, of Garland, spent
the week end with Mr. Cates’
parents and Kenneth’s grandpar-
ents, Mr. and Mrs- Leslie Cates.
As Friday was Kenneth’s third
birthday and Saturday his
grandmother’s birthday they all
celebrated the event.
G M. Parr returned home one
day last week from the Wysong
Hospital, having spent a week
there undergoing surgery for a
stomach ulcer. At this time Mr-
Parr is getting along fine and
we are happy he is home again.

Randall Humphries was oper-
ated on recently for appendicitis.
His friends are glad to hear of
his improvement.
Sorry to report that John
Shipp underwent major surgery
Monday morning at Veterans
Hospital at Lisbon at Dallas.
Several of his friends visited him
Sunday, John Jones, Nelson Har-
vey. Ridly Trail, LeRoy Petway,
all gave blood and others gave
blood of other communities. His
many friends wish a complete
recovery for him.
Mr and Mrs. Jack McCreary
visited her aunt, Mrs- Famy Ha-
gins, at the Park View home for
the aged in McKinney Wednes-
