Funeral for James M. Banks
92, Rusk, was at 2 p.m. Friday;
Dec. 10, in the Wallace-Thomp-
son Funeral Home chapel, with
the Rev. Charles Nunnally and
Jerry McRae officiating.
Burial wasinMcDonald Cem-
etery at New Summerfield,
He was born Sept. 12, 1912,
to John R. and Jimmie Iveahey
Banks in the Bethel community
and died Dec. 8.
He was preceded in death by
his wife of 65 years, June Ellis
Banks; three sisters. Mattie Sue
Kennedy, Leta Bell Pitman and
Evelyn Bynum; and two broth-
ers, Robert L. Banks and J. C.
Banks.
Together with his wife, they
operated a country store for 45
years in the Iron Hill community,
east of Rusk. During that time
he was a rehef mail carrier for
the Rusk U. S. Post office for 25
years, serving three routes.
He was instrumental in
organizing and installing the
Iron Hill Water Supply Corp.
in 1966 and served at its presi-
dent until 1998. During those
32 years, he was also responsible
for obtaining natural gas piped
into the Iron Hill and Bethel
communities.
Mr. Banks was a member of the
Church of Christ in Rusk.
He is survived by three sis-
ters-in-law. Lola Banks of Rusk,
Margarette Pitts of Nacogdoches
and Earla Clifton of New Sum-
merfield and several nieces,
nephews, cousins and many
friends. Pallbearers were Kevin
Brownlee, Harvey Butler, Kevin
Butler, Keith Kennedy, Jerry
Knott and David Windham and
Charles Hassell.
Memorials maybe made to the
McDonald Cemetery, in care of
the New Summerfield Cemetery
Association, P. O. Box 125, New
Summerfield 75780or to a favor-
ite charity.

84, of Rusk, was at 2 p.m. Sunday.
Dec. 12, at the Wallace-Thomp-
son Funeral Home chapel with
the Rev. Charles Haley and the
Rev. Frank Holrath officiating.
Burial was in Providence Cem-
etery at Dialville.
Mrs. Morrow died Dec. 8.
She was born March 11, 1920,
in Dialville. She attendedDallas
Methodist Hospital School of
Nursing for three years. She
resided in Oklahoma City,
Okla. for 10 years and Rusk for
49 years. She was a member of
the Calvary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Morrow was a retired
nurse and worked as assistant
medical director for the medical
unit at Rusk State Hospital for
22 years, retiring in 1978. She
served as a 2nd Lieutenant
with the Army Corp of Nurses
in World War II from July 20,
1942-March 2, 1944.
Preceding her in de a th w a s her
husband, Wayne C. Morrow.
Survivors are two daughters,
Jessie Faye (Jo) Stanwood of
Rusk and Mary K. Hagle of
Seattle, Wash.; a son. Martin
W. Morrow of Gladewater; a
brother, John William Conway
of Fort Worth; 10 grandchildren;
11 great-grandchildren; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
