Tails From The Lions Den
We had
our best
attendance
last week
that we have
had in quite
sometime.
Lion Lewie
Byers was
our program.
He advised us
Morris Elliott
of the various projects that the
Rusk Economic Development
Corp. has financed and that
they are contemplating at this
time. Lion Byers is the retiring
president of that organization.
Larry Long has just been
elected as their new president.
Martha Neely is their coordi-
nator. Their latest project is
assisting for the new hospital
to be built just north of Rusk
State Hospital at the west side
of Highway 69. We have another
new member, Pat Richards. They
had acraft shop across the Street
from the Ford place. Lions don't
forget March 29 will be White
Cane Day again. Hardly seems
possible that it has been nearly
a year from the last one. Come
roar with us next Thursday,

First Assembly of God, Rusk
It ¡s all about Jesus! What do we preach? Jesus!
Who do we worship? Jesus! To and For whom
do we live? Jesus! The scriptures teach us,
there Is no other name given for our salvation.
See without Him, we can have religion, church,
fellowship, activities. But without him we also
have emptiness, Confusion,lostness, our sins.
When I vras just a lad, I professed Christ as
my Saviour. It was at church camp, where the
counselor asked, do you know Jesus yourself,
apart from your parents. Oh, it was wonderful
to have Christian parents! My dad was known
as a spiritual man. He loved to expound the
Word of God. My mother expressed godliness
In womanhood by her submission to Christ
and her husband. She also was a participant
in the church. Yet not once, did my parents
say, these save you. Not once did they say,
church membership saves you. Only that we
must allow Jesus be first and foremost In our
lives. I gave my heart toJesus because of their
godly example. My record does not include
major sins, but I was lost because I did not
have Him He has been #1 in my life, above all
others. Because of Him, I met a beautiful lady
who became my wife, biessed with children and
grandchildren, and blessed with the family of
God who loves me. What a privilege to know
Jesus. Do you know Jesus? If you want to,
call me at 683-4655 for prayer or email me at
