Charles T. Dickson Sr.

Funeral for Charles T. Dickson
Sr., 64, of Jacksonville was at 1:30
p.m. Friday at the Thompson Fu-
neral Home Chapel with the Rev.
Doug Wilson, the Rev. Dr. Harold
Qrunson, the Rev. Barnell Ander-
son and the Rev. Wayne Thomp-
son officiating. Burial was in Provi-
dence Cemetery.
Mr. Dickson died Wednesday,
Feb. 3, at his home. He was born

Mr. White died Saturday, Jan.
30, in Fort Worth. He was a former
resident of Marietta, Ga. and a
. Dallas native.
'' He was a member of the Dancin
Singles and an avid square dance
and fisherman. Mr. White was a
cjvil engineer and longtime associ-
ate of the Stonehenge Corp. in
.$Ulanta, Ga. He was the son of the
jüate Frank and Grace Goodson
SWhite.
March 8, 1934, and had lived in
Jacksonville most of his life. He
was in the insurance business for
37 years, 23 of those as an agent
for Cherokee County Farm Bu-
reau. He was a member and dea-
con of the Tabernacle Baptist
Church, Jacksonville. He served
in the U.S. Navy during the Ko-
rean Conflict.
Survivors are his wife, Betty
C. White
He is survived by three children,
Diane Furnas, Bill White and
Randy White; throe grandchildren
Kelly Furnas, Keith Furnas and
Jessica White; a great-grandson,
Todd Furnas; two sisters Rosine
Canterbury and Joy Roberts; three
brothers, Lloyd White, Donald
White and John White; and a num-
ber of other relatives living in the
Rusk area.
The family requests that memo-
rials be directed to the American
Cancer Society or to a charity of
the donor's choir.
Mr. White was a part of the
Maness, White, Taylor family that
has a reunion in Rusk each No-
vember.

Mrs. Norvell was born Feb. 3,
1905, in Rusk to Milton and Fleeta
Goodson. She was a resident of
San Augustine for approximately

United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, R.T. (Robert) Norvell;
a daughter, Elizabeth ; a son, R.T.
(Sonny) Jr. and a grandson, Scott.
She is survived by two daugh-
ters, Leonora Wolf of Onalaska
and June Ham of Jefferson; a
daughter-in-law, Gail Norvell of
Fort Worth and many grandchil-
dren, great-grandchildren, nieces
and nephews.

Blount Chapel Baptist Church

Home in Jacksonville.
Mrs. Lockhart died Feb. 2 in
East Texas Medical Center Jack-
sonville. She was born July 18,
¿913, in Cherokee County and
graduated from E.J. Campbell
• "High School in Nacogdoches. She
retired from the dietary depart-
ment of Stephen F. Austin State
University and was a member of
the Blount Chapel Baptist Church,
: Mary Conley Chapter No. 147 Or-
Lockhart
der of the Eastern Star, Mission-
ary Society, and served as an-
nouncing clerk, benevolent trea-
surer and in the Sunday school.
She was preceded in death by
her husband, Charles Lockhart.
Survivors are a son, Joe E.
Lockhart of Houston; a daughter,
Thelma Hanson ofHarrisburg, 111.;
seven grandchildren and six great-
grandchildren.

Scantland, 65, of Alto was at 10
a.m. Tuesday in the Trinity Chris-
tian Center with the Rev. Gerald
Hooks officiating. Burial was in
the Jackson Cemetery at Joaquin
under the direction of O.T. Allen &
Son Funeral Home.
Mrs. Scantland died Saturday
in Alto. She was born March 18,
1933, in Center to Doug and Ola
Childress Pinkston. She was a

at 6 p.m. Feb. 12-13 and at 9:45
a.m. Sunday morning Feb. 14.
Rev. Bill Swearingen of Jack-
sonville will be the evangelist. He
has been preaching since 1976 and
was the former pastor of Beech
Creek Baptist Church in Spurger,
Tex. He and his wife both teach
Spanish classes for Jacksonville
ISD.
Praise and worship music will
be lead by Jeff Stark. Mr. Stark is
a sophomore at East Texas Bap-
tist University majoring in music.
He currently leads the praise and
worship music on Wednesday
nights at Central Baptist Church
in Marshall.
Youth from all area churches
are invited to attend.
Trinity Christian Center in Alto.
Mrs. Scantland had lived in Alto
for two years. She had previously
lived many years in the Houston
area and was also a former resi-
dent of the Good Springs commu-
nity near Henderson.
Survivors are her husband, Bill
E. Scantland of Alto; her daugh-
ter, Ellen Hooks of Alto; a son,
David Scantland of Alto; and seven
grandchildren.
