Anderson May 7th 1867

Messers W. M. Rice & Co
Our Mr Easton has
just returned from the Upper portion of
Texas He saw Merssrs Taylor & Evert on his
return home, and was informed by them of
the arrangements made with you.
Col Easton will be down at Houston in the
course of a week or two. He has some money
collected for you, and will bring down with
him and have a full consultation with you
in regard to the claims, now in our hands.
Your letter of the 19th of April would have
been answered sooner, but Mr Goodrich did
not know much about the business, as it came
into our firm as a part of the old business of
Easton & Samuel,
